Publisher's summary

This chilling psychological suspense novel - think Strangers on a Train for the modern age - explores the dark side of love and the unbreakable ties that bind two sisters together.

Felix and Tilda seem like the perfect couple: young and in love, a financier and a beautiful up-and-coming starlet. But behind their flawless façade, not everything is as it seems.

Callie, Tilda's unassuming twin, has watched her sister visibly shrink under Felix's domineering love. She has looked on silently as Tilda stopped working, nearly stopped eating, and turned into a neat freak, with mugs wrapped in Saran Wrap and suspicious syringes hidden in the bathroom trash. She knows about Felix's uncontrollable rages and has seen the bruises on the white skin of her sister's arms.

Worried about the psychological hold that Felix seems to have over Tilda, Callie joins an Internet support group for victims of abuse and their friends. However, things spiral out of control, and she starts to doubt her own judgment when one of her new acquaintances is killed by an abusive man. And then suddenly Felix dies - or was he murdered?

A pause-resisting work of suspense that announces a stunning new voice in fiction, White Bodies will change the way you think about obsession, love, and the violence we inflict on one another - and ourselves.

Editorial reviews

Editors Select, December 2017

I'm a sucker for psychological thrillers - even when they're not the best, they're still entertaining, and when they're great, they're unputdownable. White Bodies is one of those thrillers that doesn't rely on action but draws you in with the characters - totally weird characters who will have you silently screaming, "WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!" throughout the book. White Bodies is creepy and unsettling, and (be warned) many parts will leave you cringing. —Laura, Audible Editor

Just ok.

The idea of the book was great and quite original. However, I did not find the main character likable. I thought she was strange. I did not enjoy the ending of this book, but who ever agrees with an ending of a book? Performance was great - narrator was great with different accents of the characters. But as a whole, this book was just okay for me.

Lived it!!

Maybe not so much “thriller” but absolutely psychological intensity.
I loved the flow of the story, and will definitely look for more of Jane Robbins work.
Worth the credit and worth the time.

Not my cup of tea

I really enjoy a psychological thriller, but I found the story line weak and dull.

Gripping

This book was so good! I've been disappointed with many thriller/mysteries lately. This was hard to press pause on. So many twists and turns. I was rooting for the main character throughout to find what she was looking for. The narrator also did a great job with different accents.

I could not stop listening!

I was hooked from the very beginning. This story was very well written and kept me wanting more. I felt anxious at times and smiled at others. I appreciated the honesty of the main character and questioned her judgment at others. This book was absolutely fabulous! Now, I cannot wait for more from Jane Robins. I have become a fan for sure!!!

Fast paced thriller

another fast paced thriller with a twist. So fast paced... but a lot of paranoia with caution though.
narrator is good at x2 speed. Really gripping till the end.

Who is Being Abused?

Twin sisters with complicated lives. One is really nosy, going through the other's trash. A young husband ends up dead: heart defect or murder. A fast read with multiple twists.

I didn't care for it

I didn't care for it. I hated the ending, but some may like it. I didn't like the twisting story line, but again... someone else just might.

Narrator did a decent job.

Ugh

This was not a great book. The idea was great, but the execution was off. I feel bad for the narrator, because she did a good job with a bad product. Dont waste your money or your credit
