This was listed as a mystery. It wasn't.

Average listen. Shouldn't be on your bucket list of listens, but if you have an extra credit, it isn't the worst book you can choose.

Repetitive self-doubt-then-final-redemption fare

What did you like best about The Silent Sister? What did you like least?

Best: Susan Bennett
Least: writing is too mainstream, not creative

Has The Silent Sister turned you off from other books in this genre?

'Fraid so.

What does Susan Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a gifted, natural ability to tell a story from varied viewpoints and make the characters as believable as possible.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

All the men are bad guys in this novel. Ain't nobody got time for that.

By far, the BEST D.C. novel so far !!

Loved the story, and the mystery with all the twists and turns. Loved the narration, and the fact that it says "Book 1" in the title, already has me looking forward to the next one

Too predictable

Would you try another book from Diane Chamberlain and/or Susan Bennett?

I don't think this author has developed enough layers in her writing to keep it real.

Would you be willing to try another book from Diane Chamberlain? Why or why not?

I don't think she has the maturity to be really authentic. This was more like a Disney story than real life.

What about Susan Bennett’s performance did you like?

The characters were well defined, no confusion on who was talking.

Did The Silent Sister inspire you to do anything?

Not write like she did.

Great story, not the typical ending, and hooked me and I couldn't put it down.

Among the best I've read in while

This was a fantastic story. It had every thing you want in a good book, love, hate, mystery, redemption. I love a book that spans over the characters life time. The author was so descriptive that I truly felt like I was there with the characters. The story was full of delicious surprises!

Melodramatic even for me

The book had a lot of potential with a terrific plot set up- older sister commits suicide, but no she flees and takes on a new identity at 17 aided by her father a fact discovered by her younger sister after the father dies. Plenty of people with interests in money make moves on the estate and the tension mounts. But no that's not the point of the story at all--- melodrama. Maybe it's me or the story turn of direction or .. Not sure but the second half fell flat for me big time.

Great Book!

Where does The Silent Sister rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorite audio books.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I read 4-6 books a month. There aren't very many plot twists that surprise me, but this one had a few. I really recommend it!
