About this listen

My name is Chloe Repaco. I’m your typical 20-something college graduate who is in love and just trying to get her shit together. I’m trying to make my mark in the world, figure out what I want to do in life, and get off my budget-friendly diet of ramen and rice cakes.

Next to my bed sits a calendar with 127 days that have Xs on them, and there are about another 90 days to go. Those Xs are me counting the days until my soldier, Vinse, returns from Iraq. And there he sits at the other end of the world with those same Xs, counting down until our worlds can reunite.

He yearns to be a part of my world again. As far as he’s concerned, it’s a world and a life where everything is okay. Little does he know that my world, our world, and our future is about to be turned upside down the moment he returns home.

This is my story. A story of love, a story of heartache and pain, and a story that molded me into the woman I am today. It serves as a lesson - sometimes what you think you want is not what your heart wants or needs at all.

This is a journey to find myself, my place in the world, and the arms of where my heart, my dreams, and my hopes should lie.

We Have All Been There

This is a great story of a female, Chloe, who is a young adult finding her way in life and what it means to cause pain and heartache, only to have it done in return when you think you have found the "one". I feel like as a female, many of us can relate to this character as she is trying to find out exactly what she wants in life and the struggle between work, where she feels safe, and entering into a relationship.

The narrator did a perfect job, almost as if she were the character her self.

Great Story, excellent narration

Where Hope Lies is a great story of the emotions of a young woman finding her way thru relationships and love. The narration of this audiobook was excellent and made the story even more engaging. I received this book at no charge but submitted this review on my own.

Great story about finding ones self

This story surprised me, in a good way. It's a story about a young woman who finds herself. Through the story, I thought I had things figured out but I was wrong - some mystery, some suspense, romance and surprises. The narration was good and the story was too. There are some unanswered questions for me at the end, but that's ok. Not every story needs to wrap up with a pretty bow on top. I received a copy of this book for no charge and was encouraged to leave an honest review.

Raw and honest

This book made me cry several times, it took me on an emotional journey along with the lead character Chloe. The story felt very real and had great emotional depth, love and joy, loss and sorrow, happiness and heartbreak.

The glimpse into the life of someone waiting at home for a loved one deployed on military service was really interesting, I can't imagine how hard that must be on both people and the relationship.

A great story about growing up, figuring out who you are and how you want to live your life.

The narration was great, loved the character voices they're easy to tell apart and sound male and female. The delivery is well paced, emotionally dynamic and helped draw me into the story.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Pretty good coming of age story

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is an in-between YA and adult story that reveals truths that can only be learned through experience. No matter how much you think you understand a situation until you have experienced it you don't really fully appreciate how your actions always affect more than yourself.

Very good story; great narration!

This was a story about finding oneself. Stacy Gonzalez did a great narration that made you feel like you were actually living Chloe's life. It was a little on the depressing side for me, but probably a good break from my cheesy romantic success stories! :) This is much more real life. I do love a story about trying to turn yourself around though, supportive friends and family included!

Powerful coming of age journey

What a powerful story about loyalty, love, longing and hope in a turbulent world.

As you grow and mature, your outlook on life, and love, changes over the years, especially between the ages of 18-28. I've been there myself.

The greatest journey one can take is to find oneself.
Very well done, great writing and narration was awesome :) Recommended!
