Publisher's summary

The gods are rightfully imprisoned, and Ses intends to keep them that way. But her rebel father has other plans. Gregory D. Little's Unwilling Souls is a pulse-pounding chase through an epic fantasy world of skull cities, demonic conspiracy, and a magical industrial revolution fueled by harvested human souls.

Ses is the daughter of a business mogul and a terrorist, each trying their best to kill the other while pretending she doesn't exist. An apprentice jailer of the gods, Ses spends her days learning to forge the tools needed to maintain the gods' prison. When the prison is mysteriously attacked on her sixteenth birthday, Ses is forced to flee after the secret of her parentage is revealed.

Suddenly on the wrong side of the law, Ses realizes the very father who abandoned her may be the only one who can protect her. But some secrets are darker than parentage. On her way to find her father, Ses will uncover truths about her family and herself that will shatter her understanding of the world and risk the return of the gods themselves.

Amazing storytelling!

From the first moment, this book had me hooked. Diving into the adventures of Ses’ world was fun! The narrator was also great with all of the voices. Highly recommend!

This story will leave you wanting more

Gregory Little has done a remarkable job of building such an imaginative world in his first novel. The imagery is fantastic, and the story gives me Brandon Sanderson type feels. The characters are likable, but don’t get too attached, as there are twists and turns galore that you won’t see coming. The narrator does a great job as well, and that’s a big part of listening to audiobooks for me. I can’t wait for him to release more and will be patiently waiting for Ungrateful Gods to be released to help me make it through my my commutes!

A wonderful story

Ses's adventure to find her parents also leads her to finding out the God's have plans that the humans don't agree with. Definitely a enjoyable story.
