About this listen

Few ever asked to join the Adventurers Guild.... Their members often died young.

In one of the last cities standing after the world fell to monsters, best friends Zed Kagari and Brock Dunderfel have high hopes for the future. Zed desperately wishes to join the ranks of the Mages Guild, where his status as Freestone's only half-elf might finally be an asset. Brock, the roguishly handsome son of merchants, is confident he'll be welcomed into the ranks of the Merchants Guild. But just as it seems the boys' dreams have come true, their lives take a startling turn...and they find themselves members of the perilous Adventurers Guild.

Led by the fearsome Alabasel Frond, the guild acts as the last line of defense against the Dangers - hungry, unnatural beasts from otherworldly planes. And when the boys uncover a conspiracy that threatens all of Freestone, Zed, Brock, and their new allies - Liza, a fierce noble, and Jett, a brave dwarf - must prove their worth once and for all.

This start of a thrilling new series is sure to be a hit with listeners who like their fantasies clever and action-packed, with tons of humor and heart.

Fun story

I loved the story and it keptmy attention. The only problem for me was it ended way too soon. I would have liked to see more resolution to the problem and story line before ending.

Supa well written & quippy.

I dont know why they put an age of reader to this book ( for age 12)... Im 54 yo, and enjoy a well written science fiction, lit rpg, or fantasy.. and this is well written. In the lines of D&D (Dungeons & Dragoons).. swords & sorcerers...
Smart writing!

A ver good adventure

Very good book. The voice of the audio is very soothing. You could listen to it for an hour straight and not even know.

Amazing this is a must read!!!

This seemed like a Dungeons & Dragons adventure while listening I just kept thinking about how good of a campaign. The only negative thing I could say is that it wasn’t long enough for me to

Best new series in a while

This is the type of book that I read and this one ranks up at the top.this a trilogy and I have listened to the first two can’t wait for the last one. I think this story could go a lot further than just 3 books you guys could start a new series with the same caricatures I would read it

Good start

I was pleasantly surprised. Seems to be aimed at a younger audience but I enjoyed it. I think the only fault is this trend among authors to push women as leaders. A lot of the leaders in the book are women and even the main girl complains how she isn’t allowed to be a warrior. Can we just stop this? I know this is a fantasy but come on man. Move on from this strong woman woke nonsense. I think one strong woman or leader is enough. People are obsessed with it though and it just gets annoying. There’s a reason most leaders are still men in a modern society.

Well written and well read.

A fantasy world similar to an RPG. although the characters are young, the prose feels written for an older audience.

A Unique World and Good Listen

The authors created a unique world with monsters I've not read about. The story of how each character became part of the Guild is different for each one, which enriched the tale. At times it was a little telly, but it didn't prevent me from getting engrossed in the characters adventures and wondering how they'd handle themselves in their situations, and how things would turn out. I will definitely read the sequel.
