About this listen

I found an old childhood photo. There's something terribly wrong with it.

My husband insists on keeping this one painting of a woman.

I listened to a true crime podcast... about myself.

UNDER YOUR BED brings you 13 terrifying tales for your darkest nights. From horrific games of hide-and-seek to sinister paintings, from tiny fairy gardens to malevolent doppelgängers, this collection is guaranteed to make you fear what goes bump in the night.

These tales are longer than those in the bestselling Don't Scream collection by Blair Daniels.

Praise for Under Your Bed

"The stories are good and creepy. Every single one of them, the last sentence kicks the horror right to eleven."

"I adore this authors stories! I have all of her books and the tales scare the bejesus out of me.
They're short, as promised, completely creepy, and utterly addictive!"

"I strongly recommend this book to fans of short horror, fans of Blair Daniels, fans of shows like the Twilight Zone or Masters of Horror, or people looking for a unique collection of stories. Before realizing it, you'll fall under the sinister spell of the tales within."

It's Okay

The stories in this book were more weird than scary and many of them ended abruptly leaving me feeling confused. With regard to the virtual voice (VV), it was odd having the female voice reading for both sexes, so I had to wait to find out who exactly was speaking, For the most part, the virtual voice did a good job of adding the correct inflection. In this, the third book I've listened to in VV, I noticed words/phrases pronounced incorrectly. "9-1-1" was read as "nine hundred eleven", "record" (record the conversation) was pronounced as "record" (record player). And it really messed up stuttering, saying each letter before the stuttered word. These tiny mistakes made listening tedious having to decipher what the intended word/meaning was.

I'd say this is a good book if you just need something to listen to.

Unintentionally funny narration.

The stories were pretty bad. All were variations on the same theme. And they all ended somewhat awkwardly and ambiguously.

The Virtual Voice narrator was hilarious though. The robotic tone and rhythm. Emphasis on the wrong words. My favorite was the one about space. "She" kept pronouncing "Polish" -the language- like "polish" as in what you use to paint your nails.

Virtual voice is terrible.

The stories are entertaining and well written, but virtual voice narration is awful. It has the ability to take a great story and make it mediocre at best. I wish they would stop using it.
