Publisher's summary

An island born in fire and thunder when the Earth was young is the setting for this adventure with Jon Michaels and his marine-biologist mother.

Join Jon as he explores the incredible barrier reef surrounding Moratonga. He feeds an octopus, encounters sharks, and dives to one of the strangest and most dangerous places on the planet: 20,000 feet down to hydrothermal vents, a world of black-smokers, huge tubeworms, and creatures who live without ever seeing the light of the sun.

Great sounds, original music, professional actors, and super science make this an adventure you don't want to miss.

Smart kids will like this

This is one of those nice audios that are designed for smart kids, interesting enough for adults, and have enough sound effects and dramas to keep the younger siblings tuned in. Even though the story is ficitional, it's based on actual scientific facts not science fiction fantasy. You'll definately be inspired to start scuba diving, or at least do a few web searchs on squids and the Tonga Trench. I'm definately going to investigate some of this author's other productions.

Good for Kids!

My 5 year old son goes to bed to this book almost daily! Sound effects are great and the narration is good. A bit short but overall it's like taking a trip under water!
