About this listen

On a top-secret dive into the Pacific Ocean's deepest canyon, Jonas Taylor found himself face-to-face with the largest and most ferocious predator in the history of the animal kingdom. The sole survivor of the mission, Taylor is haunted by what he's sure he saw but still can't prove exists-Carcharodon megalodon, the massive mother of the great white shark. The average prehistoric Meg weighs in at twenty tons and could tear apart a Tyrannosaurus rex in seconds.

Written off as a crackpot suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, Taylor refuses to forget the depths that nearly cost him his life.

With a PhD in paleontology under his belt, Taylor spends years theorizing, lecturing, and writing about the possibility that Meg still feeds at the deepest levels of the sea. But it takes an old friend in need to get him to return to the water, and a hotshot female submarine pilot to dare him back into a high-tech miniature sub.

Diving deeper than he ever has before, Taylor will face terror like he's never imagined, and what he finds could turn the tides bloody red until the end of time.

Why are all the female characters such pieces of work?

This would be a great book if just one of the female characters wasn’t a self-centered, shallow bitch. Makes me wonder what the author has against women?

Curse abridged books

Plain and simple the abridgment hurts the book. I read this before and was looking forward to listening.
I was fine with the cuts until the final quarter. Way too little character development truly happens when the climax relies on the major changes that happen during this moment. I didn't even know the book was abridged until I started listening.

Jaws on steroids!

I first read the book years ago, when i saw it on Audible i had to listen to it. This story is another example of a author keeping the audience entertained and thirsting for more.

Great Detail

I very much enjoyed this book from a biology standpoint as well as entertainment. I do, however, recommend reading this after the movie if you intend to watch it.

Thrilling Action Packed Ride

I first learned of this book when I saw a trailer for the upcoming film due out in August 2018. I read the Meg Origins book first to properly prepare for this book. Wow! What a ride! This book is a thrilling sea adventure with twists and turns galore. I had a hard time putting this book down, it was so exciting. I had to learn what would happen next. The balance between information about sharks and the sea what was perfectly balanced between the main storyline and characters. I read this book using immersion reading, while listening to the audiobook version instead. The narrator wasn't the greatest, skipping over some of the words and phrases.
Please note, the audiobook contains two books, the Meg first, then Meg Origins begins afterwards.

Better than the MOVIE!!

I LOVE shark movies and books and this one did NOT disappoint!! I saw the movie before the book and I couldn't help but wish that the movie would've stuck closer to the book!! If you are a fan of Jaws, you will LOVE this book series!!
