About this listen

Fae like to play dangerous games...

In detective Mera Maurea's experience, three things motivate a murder: secrets, convenience, or passion. But none of the three can explain why the Summer King is dead.

With a tight deadline hanging over her head, Mera has to figure out who's the culprit before the frail balance that holds the nation of Tagrad together crumbles into dust.

To aid her - or turn her life into a living hell, hard to tell which - is her fae partner Sebastian Dhay, a snarky detective with a penchant for the illegal. He's a volatile wild card who will do anything to solve the murder, even if it means his doom.

The clock is ticking. And Mera is hiding a deadly secret of her own.

A little confusing

It felt like there wasn’t enough character development. I listened to the book, but never got engrossed in it.

Love the narrator! She’s the reason I bought the book

Fae Police Bk 1

Police Detective Mera Maurea's has been living with a huge secret amongst humans. Her job takes her to a murder scene where the Summer King is found dead with a human.

Mera is forced to work with a new partner Sebastian Dhay who is fae and has a very pessimistic attitude. Both Mera and Sebastian and holding secrets but such as the life among fae - the corruption runs deep and you don't know who to trust.

While book one I found interesting it was ok - I'm hoping book 2 will capture more of my interest.

Not actually worth it

The book was okay for what it was but I took issue with the main character being so weak, in mental capacity, will, and strength. For the main character to be a siren and have this sense of duality and no control over her power was really grating. And then she's constantly crying over her mommy issues, you're grown now put on your big girl paties and deal with your shit. The male main character comes on too strong and is one of those guys that constantly thinks a woman is in need of his protection and constantly cripples the female main character from being of any help in any way. very frustrating book.
