Publisher's summary
A kingdom plunged into chaos. A woman branded a demon. A power she didn't choose becomes her only hope.
On the morning of the bell tolls, Cynn Jade wakes to find her world shattered. The baron and his wife, murdered. Hexed by powers she doesn't understand, Cynn is forced to flee all she knows. Hexed by enigmatic powers, she becomes a demon, an outcast shunned by the very world she could save.
Changing her name to protect the family line will only go so far as she discovers the true depth of the war she’s fighting.
Lost in a world she can no longer call her own, she must rely on the kindness of strangers. A ranger, who knows more of her story than he’s sharing. A goblin, exiled by her own kind who must do the last thing she wants to do to keep Thornbane alive. A mage with an unsavory reputation for pushing magic too far.
Haunted by a demon's shadow and ostracized by her people, Cynn is an exiled heir. If she embraces her cursed transformation, she can unlock a powerful hidden magic. But will doing so save the barony or consume her soul?
To regain not only her throne but also save her people, Cynn must find a cure to the curse. Her quest leads her down a perilous path, forcing her to face a magic far older and wilder than she ever imagined.
As the shadows deepen, the question lingers—will this newfound power save her or become the instrument of her destruction?
The Thornbanbe Trilogy is an odyssey of vengeance, a symphony of high magic, and an exploration of the cost of power. Immerse yourself in a world where every step is laden with peril, and every decision shapes the destiny of a cursed realm.
For those hungering for the gripping tales of Andy Peloquin, JDL Rosell, Ryan Cahill, Michael Wisehart, Jacob Peppers, and AC Cobble, the Thornbanbe Trilogy offers an unrelenting journey into the heart of darkness.
Anticipate the unfolding saga with these gripping titles:
Book 1 - Thornbane the Lost
Book 2 - Thornbane the Demon Witch (coming May, 2024)
Book 3 - Thornbane the Free (coming June, 2024)

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Story
I didn't think pulling off for a quick bite to eat in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere would change everything. I was wrong. Now, I'm running through the forest wearing nothing but a red cloak, being hunted by wolves. I'm desperate, terrified, and not ready to die. When they attack, I know this is it. Except…it isn't. Because the den of wolves that bite me somehow turns into men. Men who swear I'm just like them—a shifter. And as much as I don't want to believe them, I'm not sure they're wrong.

I was a Hunter, and I honored the Code. For my services to humanity and for leading a "proper" life, I was to be rewarded. A new life after death, and a new world to give me some well-deserved rest. But something went wrong. Once again, I must fight. The Monsters that face me here are far more terrifying than those of my past life. They are cleverer, crueler, more unpredictable. And their name is.

Story
After an accident cut my life short, a realm keeper gave me a second chance: be resurrected as a realm guard in another world. Bold heroics and brave adventures? Occasionally; this is a peaceful realm, and outside of guard patrols I need to help protect the beautiful women in the local community. If I can keep the tavern across the street safe, clear the local mine of monsters, and track down the local potion master's missing assistant, things might just work out.

Riveting Dark Fantasy
I enjoyed this first book of the series. I was gripped by this story from the opening paragraphs until the very end. I admired the worldbuilding. I liked the slow reveal of the strengths of the characters which were made known through the almost non-stop action, and the way they faced challenges. I was amused by the dialogue between the group of strangers who became friends through their trials. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I thought Julia Eve's narration was fine. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.
