About this listen

His initiation complete, Leg knew he had to prove himself worthy of the gift his totem had given him. The boy was facing a long and difficult journey to dangerous lands. Meanwhile, those with eyes set on ruling the Northern Empire were also making their move. But what was most important to Leg? His personal advancement or the integrity of the empire? Of course, it was possible the two priorities were inseparable, especially since a true wizard had been introduced to the world.

by the end i didn't like anyone, didn't care about the MC, and found the book to be pretty boring. I'm done at book two, i guess.

I'm not sure where this went wrong

Based on the way the first book ended I expected more to stated goal of first book so with that in mind I was particularly sour how book 2 ended

Not what I expected

This book covers less than a month worth of time so it felt like the things that needed to get done just didn't get done. The end of the book was a big let down to me as well. I totally couldn't put the book down but I didn't like how things happened.

Good but slow

Generally, I enjoyed book 2 but the MC travels seemed to move forward in a herky-jerky manner where his quests tended to bounce from his clan location, then the castle, then a progression quest, then back to his clan location, &c. The quest battles were moderately difficult and the boss battle was fairly brutal. The on-again, off-again relationship between the MC and the princess started to come across as filler for when the author needed some time think on what to write next.

The correlation between high fear events and and recovering past life spells is only loosely explained; more supposition than factual.

Matt Godfrey performance was very well done.

I believe I will continue the series for now.

A bit too much back and forth

I am looking forward to the next book. I really don’t know how the hero will dig himself out if this mess with the demons but I have faith that this author
will figure out a way.

nice job. not litrpg but a great story

After listening to this book for half an hour I gave up. The reader is horrible. The story lacks depth and imagination. I don’t do reviews very often because I genuinely enjoy the book purchases I make. I purchased this one on a whim, surely it can’t be that bad, right? I wasted my money.
