About this listen

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals in town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Vampire Sebastian Ellingham wants one thing: to marry Tessa Blythe, the Valkyrie he's fallen madly in love with. So meeting her parents seems like the natural thing to do. He's even looking forward to it, until he discovers they've already found her a husband. Now the only way to keep Tessa in his life is to complete a series of tests meant for a very different kind of supernatural. And failing means losing her forever.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Cute and quick

A sweet short story. Just enough to be enjoyable without being too deep. Light and fluffy

Must read

Following the Fake Fiancé gambit this book is a must read. Sebastian must prove his love for Tessa...to her parents, otherwise she’ll be married off to a barrel chested, chicken legged Berserker that failed as a true Berserker just like she, supposedly fails as a Valkyrie.

The Vampire's True Love Trials is a short story novella and book 6.5 of the Nocturne Falls series. In this book, Sebastian Ellingham and Tessa Blythe get engaged, but Tessa's parents have other plans in mind for their daughter's hand in marriage. Sebastian is forced to undergo a series of tests that were intended for Berserkers to complete, not Vampires. These tests are not stacked in Sebastian's favor, in fact they may be created with the intention that he will fail and be forced away from Tessa, maybe even permanently.

I love this series. I love all of these books and the characters. I recommend them all.

The narration is good. It is the same narrator for the entire series and he has a bunch of voices in his repertoire.

Short but good

These books are quick to get through.

Disappointed the author never said what the other challenges are or what Gunther did for his third.

Nice short continuation story.

This was a nice short continuation story on Sebastian and Tessa. It could have been added to their book but it was still okay on its own. I love the series.

Revisit Sebastian

Sebastian now has to fight for Tessa and prove he is good enough to marry her. Talk about trying to impress to it in-laws to marry the woman you want but with everything they have been through Sebastian won’t let this stop him no matter what. I love him and Tessa and this was really funny to listen to.

Sebastian Meets His Valkyrie's Parents

This is a great addition to the series and a return to one of my favorite couples in Nocturne Falls Sebastian and Tessa. We get to see the next stage in their relationship and the confrontation with Tessa's parents and Valkyrie traditions. It was nice to get more background on Tessa's family and their relationship as well as to get another glance at the equal power partnership that is Tessa and Sebastian. The pace is fast and fun with the expected amount of sweet romance, short lived conflicts, and warm fuzzy happy endings. B.J. Harrison does his normal excellent work with bringing two new characters to life in this sweet new volume to the series. I am very appreciative that so many of this series are available through Audible Escape as I don't know that I would want to buy all these shorts individually.
