Publisher's summary

Nick Abrahams still holds the official world record for the number of space launches, but he’s bored stiff with his job hosting space tours. Only when his wife leaves him, however, does he try to change his life.

He accepts a tempting offer from a Russian billionaire. In exchange for making a simple repair on Neptune’s moon Triton, he will return to Earth a multi-millionaire, enabling him to achieve his ‘impossible dream’ of buying his own California vineyard.

The fact that Nick must travel alone during the four-year roundtrip doesn’t bother him at all, as he doesn’t particularly like people anyway. Once en route he learns his new boss left out some critical details in his job description - details that could cost him his life, and humankind its existence....

Narrator?

I’m almost halfway through the book at the time of writing this review and it’s taken me this long to figure out why the audiobook feels so off. It feels like the narration was done in one take and often as though he were reading a book for small children. It’s not the text that lends itself to this sensation. If you really think about the words and say them in your head with real emotion and effort, it feels more like a fairly well-written story. The issue is absolutely just the performance, at least for me. I’ve become somewhat interested in the story and will definitely finish it!

Good story

The narrator gets it close, but there are glaring misplaced pauses and mispronunciations (realtor, escape, etc.) Otherwise it would be a solid 5-stars.

Never should have changed the narrators!

I enjoyed the other books but this narrator's voice made it very challenging to get through. I almost stopped the book the book at least a half a dozen times. I continued because I might wanna listen to the rest of the books in the series. The narration slightly improved once he only shifted between to singular voices but not by much. They never should have changed narrators. He made it almost completely unlistenable.

I tried, I really did

Maybe if there was a different narrator the book would have been better. The narrator was truly awful. Same monotone throughout the book. I hated how he voiced Oscar. I didn't care at all about the main protagonist. wouldn't waste a credit or $ on this one. Much better books out there than this one.

Boring, full of unnecessary details.

Nothing was happening. Written just to reach the word count—the worst book in the series.
