About this listen

Book 9 in Anthony J Melchiorri’s The Tide series.

Humanity faces extinction. A few stubborn governments fight back, caught on the defensive. But even their concerted efforts may not be enough to stem the tide of the biological weapon sweeping the world. As people succumb to this genetically engineered weapon, they devolve into weaponized monstrosities hell-bent on destruction.

But humanity hasn’t breathed its last breath yet. Those that are determined to vanquish these abominable creatures and the fanatical organization behind them still fight.

Captain Dominic Holland, Meredith Webb, and their fellow covert operatives return on a mission to destabilize the terrifying organization trying to bring humanity to its knees. Instead of chasing their enemy, this time, they are going on the offensive, straight into the heart of enemy territory.

Best yet!

So much action and adventure. The fighting was intense and I had lots of ‘nooooo!’ moment. If you’re a fan of the series this does not disappoint, if you haven’t started the series yet I would suggest starting at the beginning to get the full adventure, but definitely read it, you won’t regret it. Narrator is great as always... I’m now off to book 10, I have to know how this ride ends!

Seriously engrossing!!!!!

Didn't think I would be so absorbed in this book but it is surprising captivating! This whole series is wonderfully written and just as wonderfully told!! Just bought book 10 and can't wait for the end. Both excited and petrified...

I truly love this series. I am so sad I have now finished listening to the ninth book in a ten book series. I am looking forward to checking out what Anthony Melchiorri does next.

Outstanding

Not as good as book 8, but close. Like usual, there's drama, dred, pity, death, hope, and escape. I swear it seems like the U.S military, in particularly Kinsey are working for the FDL. Kinsey has sent Dom and his crew on multiple 1 way trip missions with minimal support. Essentially allows them to refuel, and reload and off to save the world. The missions Moscow and Baghdad were a total waste of resources. It's like the forces were sent in with bad Intel causing heavy losses before it was decided to bomb the city. You know a lot of Nato soldiers probably died in the bombing as they were entrenched, hiding, waiting for pickup somewhere in the city. For a stealth mission they were dropped in under heavy bombardment resulting in the death of half the teams. They allowed Navi and Winters to be snatched from Germany after wasting their time and talent on a force that fell within minutes. Kinsey isolated the world top scientists on this subject and placed them in a place not very secured. The crap Kinsey pulled in one of the earlier books at the production facility turning on the alarm while trying to frame them for the outbreak. Either Kinsey inept or playing both sides.

Edge of My Seat!!

The Tide Series Book 9: Dry Gallows…Good Book!! Even in book 9…AJM doesn’t disappoint! Always something new to add to the battles between Scull & Hunter. Each book has seemed to wrap in a such a way that you could stop listening…if you really wanted to, but each found me ready to listen to the next. Ryan does a Fantastic Job narrating the entire series as well. Bravo AJM & Ryan!! 😀

Wow!

The action is heating up as the Hunters are sent in with an SF group not so much as partnership but to keep them leashed. Of course Dom is not happy since they have proven themselves over and over that they are not the enemy. But of course no one upstairs wants to listen. But they are handy in a fight so in they go just before (possible spoilers) an offensive staged by the remaining world forces are about about to attack the enemy forces.
Of course nothing is what is seems and the SF commander in charge is has little to no respect for the "Mercs". Until things go sideways and nothing goes as planned. Then it is a battle for their lives, something all to familiar to the Hunters.
They are the only ones that are by far better prepared to meet the Skulls and their Hybrid handlers. But even they are not prepared for what they find in a laboratory that is believed to hold vital information.
The monstrosities are far more than even the Hunters can handle as they also try to assist the SF groups with them.
Of course it's a fight to get out, until their ride refuses to pick them up. They are after expendeble.
Now the Hunters will have to do what they do best; fight with every fiber of their being hoping not to loose another member or even the SF groups that have sneered at them. And a fight it is....antoher great addition to this series that I just cannot get enough of!!!!

What Next????

Another amazing book by AJM. He brings the characters to light in a way thats hard to explain. The best part of it has to do with AJM's carrier. He works in labs and biology. This makes everything sound so much more real and makes it easier to understand. If you like zombie(ish) books, military fiction or TEOTWAWKI books your will love this.
