About this listen

Audiobook eight in Anthony J Melchiorri's the Tide series.

The apocalypse is here. Nightmarish creatures haunt every corner of the globe. They are the result of a biological agent that subverts human biology, turning people into monstrosities covered by overgrown bones and fueled by an unquenchable hunger.

That is just the beginning. A fanatical organization led by a rogue Russian biowarfare expert continues to expand its arsenal of biological weapons. Each design is more diabolical than the last. Now, the group plans to launch a new airborne agent that will destroy every last pocket of humanity eking out an existence in this horror-filled world.

Captain Dominic Holland and his team of elite covert mercenaries are assigned to stop the launch of this terrifying new weapon. In a desperate race against time, they must navigate the treacherous waters and cities around Europe to save humanity.

Great addition to an amazing story!

Devil to Pay is full of non-stop action and danger. Terrance is back and working with Rachel and Rory. The Hunters with O’Neil are discovering more horrible plans already in motion. Lauren questions what she and Navid are doing. Sometimes hard choices have to be made, but are they making the right ones?

So much happens in the book and it just leaves you wanting the next book immediately. I know that’s where I’m off to next. Get this book, you won’t regret it.

The narration is really good and it’s an easy listen.

Another great 1 in the series! Now on to the next.

More Skullz, more Goliaths, more Hybrids. Oh yes, shale we say it? More Titians! The Hunters risk there lives once again to save the world from a new airborne virus. Capable of turning every human into flesh eating demons.

Enjoyable from start to finish

After book 7, I began to wonder if the series was losing it's steam. Book 8 was a return to form with new enemies and storyline. I was glad to hear Terrance back on his and Rachel and Rory having more to do.

Will it ever end...

It is the predominate question in the Hunters mind as Dom, Merideth and the Hunters continue to face one dangerous aspect of the Oni agent after another. Even as they come up with a possible cure or the destruction of the Skulls in all possible aspects and mutations the bioweapon, Lorraine and Navid are called upon to go even further in their research to stop the Skulls. For the Mad Russian has yet another surprise in store for what is left of Humanity. Now, the Hunters are forced to fight on two fronts as more discoveries and atrocities are discovered. It is up to Dom and his team to stop another aspect of the Oni Agent before it is released while Loraine and Navid are given an almost impossible task of finding an answer to stopping the Skulls if not a cure. For Meradeth, she much go against all her instinicts to save what is left of humanity and decide to use the one weapon that could not only destroy the Skulls but the innocent humans who are stil fighting to retain their humanity.
And finally coming to grips with his demons, O'Neil has come to the realizaton that if he is ever to feel like the Hunter that everyone has accepted him and believes him to be, he must let go of the eternal inner struggle and be exactly that ; a Hunter. And so he does with results that surprised even him.
Melchiorri continues to keep the story line riviting toward the even just as one believes it can not get any better, for the reader not the Hunters, he surpasses those expectations.
As always I look forward to not only the books but the Audible as well which was narrated by Ryan Kennard Burke and doing an excellent job.

Devil to pay for sure

Melchiorri smashed this one again! I could not stop listening to the story of the Hunters! I wish I was one ! you get to feel so invested in their lives that you just want to keep going. Ryan Kennard Burke just sucks you in with the narration.
