Wow! Things escalate quickly!

I had a lot of fun with this one! I mean the author did a great job bringing together several plot elements together into one or few climatic moments. We still get the Slice of Life aspects that I have grown to enjoy so much. However, this one had more of a “political-thriller” theme to it with a magical fantasy topping to it. You definitely get the satisfaction of plotting and scheming if that is what you are looking for.
The next one looks like we will get our magical and progression cravings catered to and in looking forward to it! I also want to see more of those who hide in the shadows and who they are.
One of my favorite aspects is the major progression of Adelheid’s power!

The narrators continue to do an amazing job with bringing our favorite, and even the hated, characters to life!

Now for dislikes… I would say that it felt kind of short for this style of story. But at the same time, the darker aspects found in this book dragged on a bit. Also, I’m a bit bummed with the darker aspects seemed to be growing in the MC. And how Matilda seems to be lagging behind in her progress.
However, these are my opinions and not something that takes away from how awesome this book was! It was still a lot of fun. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book!

amazing

First of all babe, I'm a pretty big fan of the writer for the series. I have his other series available on honorable to which I enjoy a lot. This one started off kind of slow. Slow but such an excellent serit's a really good world building. I really love the gods. It's a very interesting story, the more we learn about them. I'm enjoying the whole thing really. I like the main character a lot. I know some people may not like her because she is so cold-hearted. A product of her past life. All that being said, this third book really took a really nice turn. I didn't see that coming kind of deal. Not a super huge plot twist, especially since we kind of already understood her experiments in what her body was kind of doing already. But the direction that they did go I did not expect. But I love it a lot. And I really cannot wait to see the next book. Now I'm on to read melody of manna which if anyone has not started that series yet. You really should if you like this series. You will see a lot of common similarities between each other. But they are so different to

Things are getting good!

This has got to be my favorite book of the series so far.
Finding out more about the characters and rolling through the story.
I'm really enjoying the "city building" and adventures with the antagonists.
If you've been reading/listening to this series you are gonna love this addition.
Great writing and narration.
I'm giving this book 6.5 out of 5 stars.

Ohh boy!!!

Things are getting good! This installment was the most fast paced of the series. So much growth, betrayal, discovery in this book. I’m excited to see where this series is headed!!!

The pacing and storytelling is absolutely incredible.

Everything about the story is great. From the pacing to the foreshadowing to the performance. The only thing I can't get out of my head is yhe repeat phrases. The phrase "if looks could kill, [blank] would be a pile of ash" and a few other repeat several times throughout all books among other things. The only thing I can say is to use different wording. Everytime I hear something repeated it makes me roll my eyes in disappointment. At every other instance though I am thoroughly enjoying this series, to the point that this is my second listening.

Coming into its stride!

This was the best book of the three by far. It was an exceptional upgrade from the first book and springboarded off the marked improvements of the second book.

The narration/performance of the voice actors was good as always, but I was disappointed that the sound effects introduced in the previous books, were substantially reduced in this book. Those sound effects made the world feel more lived in and immersive, so the lack of it here in this book was well and truly missed.

Where book 1 had a rocky start, and book 2 was much-improved, book 3 has come into its stride regarding the story. Adelheid and the core character's overall character development were mostly a treat to listen to. However, I will admit that I wish 1 or 2 core characters had just a little more development or even more presence (screen time?) within the story. I enjoyed watching the majority of the plot points laid out in the previous books, coming to a head in this one; Especially the major one regarding Adelheid. There are 1 or 2 plot points that I wasn't a big fan of but I can respect what the author was going for. I only hope the author sticks with their decision and doesn't backtrack on them later. I must state that due to spoilers found in many of the other reviews here on this platform (they may have been removed by the time you read this review), I didn't enjoy the story as much as I would have likely had. I know better for the next book since I am fully invested in this series now.

In closing, I truly am glad I stuck with this series as it got better with each instalment. I am genuinely looking forward to the next book with eager anticipation. I strongly recommend giving this series a go. It has a rough start but it picks up by books 2 and 3.

The true road to the throne begins

It feels like this is the true start of Adelheid’s climb to the throne, the events before where but the means to prepare for hardships and future heartbreaks.

A potent blend of vengeance and triumph!

In D.C. Haenlien's "The Shadow of Glory" (Adelheid, Book 3), narrated by Diana Richardson and Blaine Maddox, the writing is a potent blend of vengeance and triumph. Adelheid's journey, scarred yet victorious, unfolds with precision, while Richardson and Maddox skillfully breathe life into the characters. A concise and compelling progression fantasy that pays heartfelt homage to the past, especially for Neun.

Great series can’t wait for more

It’s so refreshing that a progression
reincarnation type story does not follow the normal tropes of other books in the genre
