About this listen

Caleb Ryan was the only man I ever loved. But then he betrayed me....

I spent years trying to get over what he'd done to me, honing my hatred until it was knife-sharp. Now I finally have a chance to take my revenge.

The only problem is I need him to achieve another goal. Whether I like it or not, we're going to have to work together.

Now feelings are coming back that should be buried and gone. Can years mend a broken heart, or is my need for revenge all I have left?

The Revenge Games Duet is a sweet romantic comedy between a quirky girl, a ripped personal trainer, and a handsome billionaire.

What?

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I wanted to like this story because I like other books by this author. This one was just too filled with pettiness. After getting through several scenes then to find out that she had that much hatred over a conversation that she only heard one part of was a bridge too far. The narrator portrayed the emotions just as they were written but boy did the story nosedive for me. She was angry at him and still could see she was wrong but continued to hold the grudge even when she needed his help. I just did not get this story. I really wanted to like it but.....

Willow, Willow, Willow.....

Yes, sometimes you want to smack her, and I know there have been a lot of negative comments about this character, which I get, but I don't have preconceived notions and expectations that can make me dislike a character if he/she isn't what I thought she should be. I'm not saying others did, but I tend to just listen and get into it and not expect anything. In fact, I tend to like things that are a bit surprising or unexpected.

I liked this story, loved both writing/story and narration. Caleb is a dream, and I think he's great! All sorts of games and manipulation going on between Willow, Caleb and Peter. She's a wild one, for sure, and revenge is in the air. Find out how it ends! :)

Glad I Continued to Listen

I have to admit, the beginning of this story really turned me off. In fact, I was about to quit listening until I got to about Chapter 3, maybe 4 and I felt that it started to improve.

It started off with Willow, the main female character, just doing vindictive stuff to her neighbor and a long time ago classmate, Caleb. Caleb does his best to be the best neighbor he can, including helping Willow start dating his best friend. As the story progresses, it does get better, but is a little different when the man is narrating and Willow's voice is that of a man, not a woman, so makes it hard to distinguish when it is her actually speaking.

Interesting romance

This isn’t my first sky corgan book but I’m indifferent about whether I liked it as much as others but it wasn’t my least favorite.

Since it’s a duet, it’s long. Very tropish so some of it is predictable but still a good read. I received this via audiobook boom and reviewed voluntarily.

Okay listen

I really wish I could say I loved this book like I do almost all of Sky Corgan's books but this one just did not sit well with me. I found Willow to be so shallow and just really not a nice person. I adored Caleb and while he made mistakes they didn't seem intentional like WIllow's character.

The narrator did a great job bringing this story to life it just was the story specifically that did not resonate with me this time

I LIKED IT!

I liked this book. It was filled with a lot of angst and pettiness but I enjoy the frustrating parts of a story as well (I'm a book junkie)! The narration was good and kept you entertained. The author did a good job with her character builds and plot. I like this author's style of writing. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A Facinating Love Story with Great Characters

Love is complicated, even with careful planning. I absolutely love Willow, Caleb, and Peter's story. there are certainly plot twist that I would not have called, and that made the experience super enjoyable. Willow when my heart right away, but it's just as great to get to know Caleb and Peter. I definitely had to get two as soon as possible, and highly recommend starting with this amazing listen. This is a voluntary review of a gifted copy of this audiobook. The plot is original, and the characters well-crafted. Highly recommend.

Loved Caleb, Narration was good!

So before this and the other audiobook Bully, I had never listened to Sky Corgan, or read her for that matter. However, I've always had an eye on her books and was curious. But this book was very similar to the setup of Bully. I disliked Willow way too much to want good things for her. She was so... just plain mean. I don't like that in my female characters. I want people with some redeeming qualities and I had issues with her. I adored Caleb though. So much so that actually wanted a better heroine for him then Willow!

Now, I really enjoyed the narrator Arthur J. Hoyt as Caleb. I just wish that Willow was in a female's voice or at least some type of voice change. However, Mr. Hoyt was entertaining in his narration.

to long winded and school age

I forced myself to get halfway through before just stopping. The MC is just too over the top childish for being in her mid twenties. I get being sheltered but the way she acts, she shouldn't even be living alone let alone looking for love interests. The whole storyline is like that. The men's parts seem more appropriate but the mc and the the mc's "enemy" both kill it. The narrator did the best he could with what he had to work with but, I don't think anyone could have helped this book.
