About this listen

You Can Heal from Chronic Pain

We’ve been sold a lie: The world tells us that pain is inevitable, that our bodies must break down as we age, and that there’s nothing we can do about it. Researchers develop new drugs to manage our pain; surgeons dream up new techniques to repair worn-out joints. But we never truly feel better.

Here’s the shocking truth: The vast majority of the pain that plagues our aging bodies is self-inflicted. It’s caused by the way we use our bodies every day - the way we sit, the way we stand, the way we walk and run. But with simple exercises, anybody can learn to heal their chronic musculoskeletal pain, and prevent future pain, injury, and joint problems from developing. The Pain Relief Secret explores the fascinating science of pain, and instructs readers in Clinical Somatics, a method of neuromuscular education that relieves chronic muscle tightness, restores natural posture and movement, and eliminates pain - all without medication or surgery. Students of Clinical Somatics have healed from chronic back pain, joint and nerve pain, scoliosis, and many other common pain conditions - all without medication or surgery.

Best of all, Clinical Somatics puts the power in your hands. You don’t need special training or expensive repeat visits to a physical therapist. Clinical Somatics exercises are practiced on your own and in your very own home. This is The Pain Relief Secret - your key to taking back your body from a lifetime of pain.

This book is great for anyone who has tried chiropractic treatments, naturopathy, yoga, physiotherapy, or massage therapy and still experiences chronic pain.

Clarity of Science and Sense

The author reduces complex scientific principles about the human body into common sense ideas that any ordinary attentive mind çan understand. The depth and breadth of her research and the use of the convincing stories of ordinary, severely disadvantaged people who have risen above their handicaps to contribute to human knowledge and health gives hope to all.
The tremendous capabilities and potential that the Creator has built into each one of us for healing and great accomplishment is amazing.
Now I have the story plainly and simply told. Now I begin again and start to prove the science and sense on my 70-year-old body from this day.
I think this is a great book whose link I will gladly share.

Must-read for Health

Good information regarding how to take care to care for our bodies. I now understand why mainstream healthcare systems are missing this link/ attention. I will use somatics in my life, and I am enrolled in the author's online course as I write this review. I like the fact that there are example movement patterns to get started for those who want to take responsibility for their health using somatics. Thank you Sarah Warren for being one of the ones who kept this alive.

I've been to different doctors and no one ever explained to me the reason of my muscular pains. This book is life changer!

Took forever to get to the point

There was no answer. Experiment in the mirror is not an answer to pain! This book was just bad!

Heavily Researched Based and Repetitive

I love Somatic Practice and even bought this author's Level 1 Somatic Practice. I highly recommend Somatic Practice. The book, however, overpowered me with the numerous research studies that were sited and somewhat repetitive . I skipped over many sections because of this. it is rare for me not to finish a book but I could not finish this one. If you want an in-depth, research-based study on why our body holds chronic stress and how it physically affects us, perhaps this book is for you. Perhaps I was expecting more practical suggestions and not a history course on pain .

More of an introduction

I bought the clinical somatics full body course from her and saw no improvement. So I bought her book hoping to get more details and improve my practice. Although I learned a lot and how great it is the conclusion is to just practice clinical somatics. I hope I’m not wasting my time I’ll continue to practice but so far no results.
