About this listen
Theus's journey continues in The Memory Stone, Part II.
Within the past year of his life, Theus has seen freedom and slavery, affection and spite, wealth and poverty - now, his adventures are about to grow more consequential and intense as the gods of the land begin to rely on him personally and exclusively to travel from conflict to conflict, as they try to use him to tamp down the outbreak of evil and violence that is threatening every human in the lands ruled by Stoke.
Theus will be confronted with tests, challenges, and adventures as he slowly takes a round-about path towards his final confrontation with Donal. Heartbroken, poisoned, and traveling in stunned pain, Theus will return to the great cities of the kingdom as he moves away from his past, and towards the unimaginable battles that await him in his future.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Not Stellar, but Satisfying
The Memory Stone part 2 captures the feeling of an adventure that I experience very rarely-- Satisfaction. Although this coming of age saga seems tame compared to other fantasy stories, it draws you into Theus' life and it's enjoyable to watch him grow and mature. Consistent with my review of part one, this conclusion to Theus' growth and his battles against dark powers sees very little difficulty but it only seems that way due to the nature of the story as well as what we've come to expect thus far. While he is thrown into more dangerous situations and goes through emotional turmoil, his mental growth and expanded knowledge helps him overcome obstacles with relative ease.
The one thing that I absolutely love about this story is the pacing. Everything feels natural, nothing feels rushed. As he journeys from city to city, stepping from place to place, working through various encounters, not once did anything feel like it did not belong. Everything had its place. While I wish that there was more to hear, Theus' story felt complete.
*I had finished part 2 immediately after part 1 but I neglected to review it until now.

Great Adventure Story
Loved it? Yes! Great Adventure Story where the underdog wins over and over again. The story gives you details of how the protagonist, Theis, grows in knowledge and power and it's fabulous to see the audio providing 26 hours (between part 1 and part 2) of details and character development.
Most Memorable Moment? There were several but they were all when Theis had a victorious moment over evil as he discovered the capabilities of his powers. I really appreciated how his courage always carried him through. One of my favs was when he rescued the Princess from the evil magician with his powers. He was clever and swift!
How was the narrator?
The narrator was excellent! He did a great job of using varied voices to emphasize the different characters. Plus, I'm a sucker for the British accent. 😊
The only negative:
They didn't resolve the Grant issue. The man disappeared and that was not wrapped up. Also, The last couple of hours were a bit rushed. The entire book is headed towards this amazing moment to defeat the evil wizard and this malevolent god but the scenes fly by without a whole lot of details. I would have appreciated more details.
Overall? EXCELLENT and fun Read!

a good story, great performance
The writer doesn't trust the reader to remember anything, bombarded with retelling who, what, where... ect. As an audio book this is fine, if I were reading this I would have lost interest. The narrator did a great reading, put life into character while reading to us.

a great book you don't want to stop listening to
Agreat story that involves gods that you could understand and who interacted with out mystery but with purpose between Good and Evil. A perfect balance between the hero the hero win and the battles that were carried out.

Continuation of a fun, clean story
TheMemoryStone
I am currently enjoying the second book in the series The Memory Stone by Jeffrey Quyle. Clean and enjoyable, this story follows the many adventures of Theus as he endeavors to combat evil and make sense of his newly found unique talents and magical abilities.
There is an aspect of romance in this book; however, it is not a lustful "romance". It is a romance truly born out of love and respect. That is one of the many reasons I like the book.
I also enjoy the book because a lot of the characters in the book are simply "good-people." Many times in books and movies the protagonist is one of only a few good people; he/she faces insurmountable odds against many ill-meaning and questionable characters. However, in this book, many of the characters are truly good-people. And, with the hostility in our society these days, it is simply refreshing to read a book with so many good-people in it.
There is a strong chance this series will be added to my favorites list. However, I will have to wait and see how the series ends.
Update 1/5/19: this series was added to my "favorites" list.
