Publisher's summary
Change your child's future starting today: Learn how to use Stephen R. Covey's proven 7 Habits to create a leadership program for kids of all ages, so they can be more effective, more goal oriented, and more successful.
In today's world, we are inundated with information about who to be, what to do, and how to live. But what if there was a way to learn not just what to think about but how to think? A program that taught how to manage priorities, focus on goals, and be a positive influence?
The Leader in Me is that program. In this best seller, Stephen R. Covey took the 7 Habits that have already changed the lives of millions of people and showed how even young children can use them as they develop. These habits - be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek to understand and then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw - are being adapted by schools around the country in leadership programs, most famously at the A.B. Combs Elementary school in Raleigh. Not only does it work, but it works better than anyone could have imagined.
This audiobook is full of examples of how students blossom under the program - a classroom that decided to form a support group for one of their classmates who had behavioral problems, the fourth grader who found a way to overcome his fear of public speaking and wound up taking his class to see him compete in a national storytelling competition, or the seven-year-old who told her father that they needed to go outside and play because they both needed to "sharpen the saw".
Perfect for individuals and businesspeople alike, The Leader in Me shows how easy it is to incorporate these skills into daily life. It is a timely answer to many of the challenges facing today's young people, corporations, parents, and educators - one that is perfectly matched to the growing demands of our certain future.

How do we as individuals and organizations survive amid tremendous change? Why are efforts to improve falling so short in real results, despite the millions of dollars in time, capital, and human effort being spent? How do we unleash creativity, talent, and energy in the midst of pressure? Is it realistic to believe that balance among personal, family, and professional life is possible? Stephen R. Covey demonstrates that the answer to these and other dilemmas is Principle-Centered Leadership, a long-term, inside-out approach to developing people and organizations.

Story
Stephen M.R. Covey has made it his life’s work to understand trust in leadership and organizations. In his newest and most transformative book, Trust and Inspire, he offers a simple yet bold solution: to shift from this “command and control” model to a leadership style of “trust and inspire.” People don’t want to be managed; they want to be led. Trust and Inspire is a new way of leading that starts with the belief that people are creative, collaborative, and full of potential.

Story
Kids walk into schools full of wonder and questions. How you, as an educator, respond to students' natural curiosity can help further their own exploration and shape the way they learn today and in the future. The traditional system of education requires students to hold their questions and compliantly stick to the scheduled curriculum. But our job as educators is to provide new and better opportunities for our students. It's time to recognize that compliance doesn't foster innovation, encourage critical thinking, or inspire creativity.

Greene, author of the acclaimed book The Explosive Child, offers educators and parents a different framework for understanding challenging behavior.

Everyone knows that you are supposed to "follow your dream". But where is the road map to help you discover what that dream is? You have just found it. In Springboard, award-winning author and teacher G. Richard Shell helps you find your future. His advice: Take an honest look inside and then answer two questions: What, for me, is success? How will I achieve it? You will begin by assessing your current beliefs about success, including the hidden influences of family, media, and culture. These are where the pressures to live "someone else's life" come from.

Story
Starting in 1997, Bob Chapman and Barry-Wehmiller pioneered a dramatically different approach to leadership that creates off-the-charts morale, loyalty, creativity, and business performance. The company utterly rejects the idea that employees are simply functions to be moved around, "managed" with carrots and sticks, or discarded at will. Instead Barry-Wehmiller manifests the reality that every single person matters, just like in a family. That's not a cliché on a mission statement; it's the bedrock of the company's success.

Awesome book (but chapters mislabeled)
What a great book! I am excited to be in the process with my colleagues of bringing the leader in me into our school. I highly recommend this book!
On a side note, audible has mislabeled the chapters. The introduction was labeled chapter one, the first chapter is labeled chapter two, and so on. The existence of an introduction is not a new concept and I cannot believe that audible doesn’t have a better system for labeling chapters.
