About this listen

Seventy years ago, Briarwych Church was sealed for the second time. The great wooden door has remained shut and locked ever since. But now, in the present day, evil is stirring once more.

Sent to live with new foster parents in Briarwych, Kerry and Mark soon set about exploring the village. When they're warned to stay away from the church, they naturally decide to go and take a closer look. And when the long-sealed door mysteriously swings open, they're drawn inside to meet a terrible fate.

After 70 years, a policy of containment is no longer enough. A priest is sent to Briarwych, with the sole task of defeating the evil once and for all. But what really lurks in the shadows of Briarwych Church? Why did Judith Prendergast turn to evil? And by attempting to banish the ghost forever, is Father Liam Dermott walking straight into an ancient and deadly trap?

Good Sequel

The story was good, but I will admit that I prefer her stories without frequent F-bombs better. Still a 5 star plot. Far less scary than her other stories, but definitely disturbing and gory at times. But not every ghost story has to be utterly scary. I'd say it was more sad and nostalgic than other stories, so it had other strong elements to it than just the fear factor which is appreciable.

Absolutely Splendid. 👍👍👍

This Story is absolutely splendid. I cant express how much I'm enjoying this series. Amy Cross has truly been blessed with the talent of writing and storytelling. The characters and storyline, magnificent. It gives you everything your looking for in a creepy, spooky, horror, ghost story. Now, regarding the narrator's, Matthew Houston and Jodie Hollie-Anne did a superb job in their narrations. They too have been blessed with a talent. They gave and brought each character to life excellently. I definitely look forward in listening to more of A.C. work, and the narration from these two voice actors. If your looking for an extremely good horror, spooky/ghost series, I highly recommend you start with this series.🤗

Not as scary as the first book

Reads like a Disney Channel special. I was let down by the lack of scariness and now realize this was probably for a target audience in their teens. Maybe it was the age of the main characters in this 2nd book along with the excellent portrayal by the narrator, but I felt it was too casual for me. I am hesitant to listen to the next book but I have a hard time with not finishing a series even if I really don't care too much for it.
