dark

Greed. All at what costs? Lives taken and some ruined. Dark and twisted. Creepy. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was okay but got on my nerves with her upbeat high pitched voice .

Good intro to a new author for me

I was given an audiobook code in exchange for an honest review. I like the narrator, she does well.

This book goes back and forth between Frances’ time as a student at Thackery, where a disaster happened and two lived were lost, and Frances’ time present day as she’s returned to Thackery to live there and work as a guidance counselor. So we see what happened when Frances was a student, and we see what is going on on the campus currently. There is a group of girls reporting hauntings at the school believed to be from the event that happened to Frances and her friends 20 years ago.

Frances is trying to figure out what’s going on. The story kept me interested and is a good length for the plot. I could figure some of it out but the ending has surpises as well. This was an enjoyable book, 3.5 stars. I’d listen to it again to see if I missed anything and will definitely read more from this author.

Oh yes- this book had an almost gothic feel, and I’m a sucker for books about boarding schools.

Don't Start This At Night! Needs a New Narrator.

Parents: Rating PG13-R. This is not a good influence for young teens; sex, drugs, alcohol are the primary coping mechanisms modeled in this novel in response to attempts at witchcraft. In terms of overall content: the language is pretty strong (including f-bombs), violence surrounding a murder, and the sexual content has references to virginity and high school hookups.

I highly recommend that you don’t listen to the start of this at night, later it isn’t bad but the beginning will get you... speaking from my experience. This book is an interesting listen but not the best choice for impressionable younger readers. Some fun twists and turns, overall this was an enjoyable short read for adults.

Sadly, I really didn't care for the narrator, she had really poor differentiations and was personally hard for me to listen to.

—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Well done

Good story, a new post and the ghosts won’t let her alone. Her past of what she did is now haunting her. Well done and enjoyable. Given audio for my voluntary review

Great Listen

I really enjoyed listening to this book by Skylar Finn. It was a mystery with a touch of the supernatural. The narrator was excellent in bringing the story alive!

I was given a copy of this audiobook in return for my unbiased review
