‘A sparklingly delicious confection to satisfy the mystery reader’s appetite’ Helena Dixon, bestselling author of the Miss Underhay Mysteries

The first book in a NEW cozy mystery series!

Still spinning from the hustle and bustle of city life, Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker is glad to be back in the Cornish village she calls home. Having quit the Met Police in search of something less dangerous, the change of pace means she can finally start her dream catering company and raise her daughter, Daisy, somewhere safer.

But there’s nothing quite like having your first job back at home be catering an ex-boyfriend’s wedding to remind you of just how small your village is. And when the bride vanishes, Jodie is drawn into the investigation, realising that life in the countryside might not be as quaint as she remembers.

With a missing bride on their hands, murder and mayhem lurks around every corner…

But surely saving the day will be a piece of cake for this not-so-amateur sleuth?

I listened to this on audible at the recommendation of a friend - we were discussing favorite recent books. I am so glad she recommended it! The characters are fun and their interactions are believable and fit well into the story. It is a solid mystery novel, but remains light and avoids being overly grotesque. The narrator has a nice British accent and really helps you feel like you are with Jodie in Cornwall. The narrator also avoids overacting character voices, which can be irritating in other audio books. I am looking forward to hearing about the adventures of these characters again in the rest of the series!

Fun Novel!

i am so happy to have stumbled upon this series. Great mystery and just the right amount of snarky humor! The narrator only enhances the story. I look forward to following the lives and mishaps of all the characters.

I enjoy the simplicity of the complication. Have fun, read and listen and I think I’ll try the recipes at the end.

Nice read

What a nice cozy! New author for me and the characters are well developed and the mystery solution was well hidden to nearly the end. Like the idea of the recipe. Highly recommend.

i was looking for that perfect balance between a too-cosy (read: syrupy sweet) mystery and something smart, witty and laugh out loud funny with well-written characters i care about right away. this book nailed it. a storyline that kept me guessing as well as kept my attention coupled with a fantastic narrator: what’s not to love? can’t wait to start book #2 tomorrow!

Brilliant

I bought this book when it was on sale I believe, and I'm so glad I did! We really enjoyed it so much. The writing is quite good, Fiona Leitch has a well-balanced ability to meld description with conversation, mystery plot with relationships/romance, and the talent for leaving me always unwilling to turn it off (we listened straight through). I notice that Audible only has three of this author's books available (don't know why). But it appears to be a series that I think will have a lot of appeal if the writing/narration continue at this level. Azara Ramm is a very good narrator who brought the story to life--she is really very good. I just purchased the next in the series, and look forward to listening to it soon.

What a fun discovery!

I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful mystery series. It is rapidly becoming one of my favorites, with likable, memorable main characters that you want to spend more time with. I feel the author incorporates the right blend of humor, story pacing and plot twists to satisfy avid mystery lovers, like me. Plus the narrator is excellent, so 5 stars there too.

Highly entertaining cozy mysteries

The narrator had a nice tone and pace.
The cozy crime was interested, not too lame nor scary. I hardly stopped listening. Light enough that if you missed a moment, not a fret, but fun enough most missed bit I went back for.

Cute cozy crime, well read
