About this listen
A missing teenager, a mysterious cult and a case of mistaken identity - just another day’s work for Epiphany Bloom.
Epiphany ‘Pip’ Bloom is down on her luck. She can barely afford cat food, and just because Most has three legs doesn’t mean he eats any less. So she absolutely can’t afford to mess up her latest temp job. But when she walks through the door of the private investigation firm, her new boss mistakes her for a missing persons expert. He then charges her with finding Matty Price - the teenage son of two A-list celebrities - who has mysteriously disappeared from his home in Kensington.
It ought to be a disaster, but Pip reckons it’s actually an opportunity. She’s always been curious (nosy, her mother calls it) and has an uncanny knack for being at the wrong place at the right time (she doesn’t want to know what her mother thinks of that). After years of trying to find something she’s good at, has Pip managed to walk straight into the job she was born to do?
She owes it to herself and poor missing Matty to find out.
But searching for Matty takes Pip into the strange, intimidating world of the rich and famous. And it soon becomes clear that some of these people’s love for themselves doesn’t extend to their fellow humans.
As Pip investigates further, she realizes the question isn’t whether Matty ran away - it’s whether Pip will find him alive and make it home safely herself....
An absolutely brilliant, light-hearted cozy mystery for fans of M.C. Beaton, T E Kinsey, Lauren Elliott, and Joanne Fluke, featuring an irresistible new heroine.

An achingly funny story from the author of the best-selling You Had Me at Hello. When Edie is caught in a compromising position at her colleagues' wedding, all the blame falls on her - turns out that personal popularity in the office is not that different from your school days. Shamed online and ostracised by everyone she knows, Edie's forced to take an extended sabbatical - ghostwriting an autobiography for hot new acting talent, Elliot Owen. Easy, right? Wrong.

Story
Ferrying tourists around Dublin for the Leprechaun Limo Service makes quite a change after years in the military. Still, Megan Malone is enjoying her life in Ireland. She likes the scenery, the easy pace, the quirky, quick-witted locals. Everything - except having one of her clients drop dead at the statue of fabled fishmonger, Molly Malone. Most restaurant critics notch up their share of enemies. Elizabeth Darr, however, was a well-loved international star. She and her husband, Simon, had just had dinner when Elizabeth collapsed, and spoiled seafood is the first suspect.

A good story
Generally speaking, I do not like the trope of somebody sneaking in and putting themselves. However, the story is well written and has nothing imagination to overcome this. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The acting was very good.

This book was such fun! I actually laughed out loud several times. Can’t wait for Pip’s next adventure.

Fun and mysteries
Gayle’s story is fun-filled and engaging. Epiphany is an original. And the rest of the characters are also well-done.
Campbell’s narration keeps us thoroughly entertained with a flawless performance of the many voices and accents.
Next please

A so funny-serious mystery
I loved the story of Pip (Epiphany), an out of work, fan of celebs, with a record of failed romances and employment, who then is mistaken as a private investigator. She's in over her head, but digs in (months late on rent) and by wit and by accident actually fixes the case. Endearing, brave-foolish, funny with a touch of serious. It's a rollick of a story. Once started I couldn't stop reading.

An escapist delight
Pip is thoroughly likeable and relatable in so many ways. Light and a lovely adventure.

Entertaining story and the narrator did a job!
I felt the story had a good amount of suspense with humor which made it all the more entertaining. The narrator performed all of the various characters with ease!

Beach Read
Did not care for this book. Story is weak and not too interesting. Would not recommend.

Not for me
I like Katie Gayle's other book so I thought I would give this one a chance. I couldn't relate to the story and character's actions were unbelievable. I didn't find it amusing at all.
