About this listen

What kind of superpowered supervillain robs a bank?

After technically being dead for twenty-six years, Marcus might be an old dog with some old-school ideas, but he's got some new tricks up his sleeve. Now that he's learned all about the modern world and his new abilities, he's ready to make his move. Thanks to the women he lured to the dark side, he's going to start things off with a bang. That's why he's going to rob a bank. He's ready to put Arch City on notice. There is a new player in town and it's time he got the respect he deserved.

Unbeknownst to Marcus, he is being hunted by both sides of the law. The most powerful superhero in the world wants him brought in because of the danger he might become, while a ruthless, rival supervillain wants him captured and brought to heel. If Marcus wants to take his rightful place at the top of the city's pecking order, he's going to need a lot more than a few million dollars. He might need an extra set of hands. It's a good thing he already has some willing volunteers.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. This time, failure is not an option.

Narrated in duet style.

Enjoying the series so far. Keep writing

I enjoyed the bit of a twist at the end. Glad we got some fighting action as well. Keep up the series. Hope to see the next book soon. Hopefully the rating helps bring the book to light.

Good story. Male narrator needs work.

The story and characters are really fun and interesting. The female narrator does a great job as well, but the male narrator needs a ton of work. He has no range to differentiate male characters. His ton seems to always go up and then end on a low note in each sentence. He needs some significant coaching/training.

I recommend the series

when leaving a review I tried to separate the quality of the work from my personal tastes. the narration team delivered a fantastic performance. the writer did a good job with his storytelling. I am familiar with the writers past works and can say that he has a tendency to create deeply flawed characters. that's good in the beginning cuz I've got plenty of room to grow. as far as I'm aware the author has not completed a series yet or if he has I have not read it yet so I cannot tell you if he's capable of sticking the landing. a part of that in my opinion would be developing the characters to a satisfactory conclusion. at the beginning of the first book I was quite taken with the story and super excited for the sequel. by the time we got to the ending and the big takeaway was a bank heist I felt rather disappointed. when I picked up this book I remembered being disappointed at the ending as well. enough time had elapsed between book two e-release and book three that I didn't remember anything other than that unsatisfied feeling. I couldn't remember why. so I gave books for a shot and it was really good. I went ahead and picked up the audio version because I had Kindle unlimited so now I was buying for posterity. now that I've gone back through book two I can remember why I kind of had that negative feeling. part of it has to do with the events surrounding the grandmother. with that said I am going to bring up just a little bit about book three that has to do with a pattern that the author has repeated from book 1 and now for book two. there was something with each of the three books that left me at the end of that particular entry with a negative feeling. the books are not big enough to override that feeling and the time between releases is long enough to only remember the negative feeling and not exactly why I felt that way. it is only through an accident of circumstance for lack of a better descriptor that I even picked up book 3. book three has something of a soft cliffhanger, but as I absolutely hate Cliffhangers I expect that when the sequel drops if Amazon does not recommend it to me I probably won't be picking it up.

Another great story from G.S. D'Moore. Melanie and Tor make the story come alive. Highly recommended.

greatly enjoyed it

the only problem I had is that it felt like it ended too fast. The ending wasn't really satisfying, but I really hope it won't take too long for the next book.

action lacked

overall an action packed story from start to finish. I did not expect our main character to face off against alot of the people he did in the 2nd book
