About this listen
The End of Days has come... but not for us.
The UEC has been fighting a losing battle against the demonic hordes, forced to surrender more ground every day. But aboard the U.S.S. Shotgun Opera, the Overmaiden—a sixth-generation Ghost AI—has just forged humanity’s perfect weapon and best hope: a supersoldier.
The man he used to be is gone, lost with his family to demons on the mining world of Aonus. All that’s left is hate, rage, and unyielding power. Rip, crunch, gore, dismember—the unstoppable juggernaut will slaughter his way through Hell, driven by righteous fury and a singular drive.
And he won’t do it alone. At his side are an exiled angel, a talented xenobiologist, and the Overmaiden herself—not to mention a battle-hardened squad of marines who've been doing this song and dance for years. Together, they’ll fight, bleed, and bear witness to his wrath.
He is nameless. He is the Sword of Mankind.
He is the Hellmarine.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

A Fresh Take on the Genre
It was very interesting to read a harem book almost exclusively told from the women's perspective. Plus it was fun to see a Doom-esque story. Can't wait for book 2!

Rip and Tear
I'm going to be comparing this to his masterclass series cause I love it. This is my third series from him.
My second was monster masseur..... I DNF that one couldn't get past 3 hrs. (Hmm guess my second) oh well
So heads up if I bring up Masterclass
Okay, hellmarine
It reminds me of Halo because the blue AI women.
Doom because of the MC Killing his way through demons. His whole point in life is to destroy them. Plus bro says " rip, tear, crush, destroy" almost all the time when he's on a rampage.
Feel like doomslayer would have those thoughts when killing demons.
Also warhammer 40k because the ✨️Chainsword✨️ a great weapon. Makes you wanna-
The MC is a quiet type. He's boring okay. Mostly grunts or ignores people. Don't worry he does talk from time to time but still. He's one of those people.
We mostly follow the side character's POV. They bring life to this story. This is book 1 so not that much character development. Hopefully in book 2. The hellmarine opens up more. He does somewhat but his character development gets backseat. You know we gotta KILL THEM DEMONS..rip... tear..
I wouldn't say the story is bad. It's also not great. The harem takes a while to form which I like. We do get 1 love interest fast but I expected as much.
There is sex, wouldn't say it's creative. Like in the masterclass series. Its decent i mostly skip over them. I prefer fade to black more. Though I'm listening to a haremlit. Not gonna happen lol. Also Imagine a 7ft muscular dude and a 5 ft woman..........rip and tear. Yikes let's move on
The action was good. Better then masterclass id say. I could follow that closely. Still the constant skill Description. Now that killed the flow. Seriously😭 I know what the skill is. No point describing it everytime.
Was kinda scared something like that would happen in this book but was relieved that I was wrong.
Male N sounds Muffled half the time
Women N was great
Beginning of the story was great. Middle part was okay. Toward the end felt kind meh. I knew the MC was gonna be OP. So after a while of people in shock of his "power". Kinda got boring.
Still for what it was. I enjoyed it. Not as good as his masterclass series (geez creaming this lmao). Idk better Plot and character development....horrible fights.
( Enchantment activated- taunt, when activated the user is granted the taunt..... SYSTEM NOTE YOUR MOTHER IS AN ORC AND YOUR FATHER SMELL OF DRAGON FART!!!!! I swear 🤬 to God lmao. I'm speaking with the narrator when the skill is activated.)
AHEM
Still this is only book 1, I'm still gonna pick up the second book of hellmarine. Maybe this will become my favorite series.
Doubt it Eli and Mayrai interactions are great. Best part of masterclass. Hellmarine MC is like a brickwall. I am my perimeter and my perimeter is me.

That's the sound of the hellmarine
So much better with great narration. This has a 90's Halo Warhammer vib that I could feel my own adrenaline pumping. Yet it still keeps that Virgil vib with the jokes and spice. I keep picturing Madter chef with a huge cockpiece whenever they talk about his size lol. Can't wait for the next book.
