Publisher's summary

Dr. Everett Berning achieved his life's work by discovering a cure for drug addiction. Unfortunately, the formula was stolen and fell into the hands of the enemy.

Drug lords from around the world unknowingly released the altered, deadly formula into their supply, affecting millions across the globe.

Within 48 hours the entire planet was thrown into chaos as the disease spread.

Regina Parker, chief of police of the tiny town of Rockport, Arkansas, isn't willing to let the military kill thousands of innocent people in a rush to contain the outbreak. She leads a small contingent of survivors on a dangerous quest to keep her town safe from the soldiers and the dead.

Will Dr. Berning be able to isolate the contagion and find a way to reverse it, or is it too late to save humanity from the tainted cure? How far will Chief Parker go to save the lives of others as the world collapses around them?

Book 2 did NOT disappoint!!

The continuation of book 1 (Tainted Cure) delved more into the lives of the living and how fast things can, and will, change if one is not careful of the choices one makes. The 'cure' for the addiction the vast majority of the world suffers from brings to the front in Tainted Reality of just how real and ugly that world is. Addiction turns us all into zombies of one form or another whether we are the addicted or the family of the addicted. But, I am getting off track here. The story line is fantastic and I find myself rooting for the people fighting to live in their crazy world and ache when someone is hurt or dies. Ashley Fontainne has done a fantastic job of making me forget about the crazy world I am living in and takes me right into the crazy world of Tanner, Regina and those they love. Rebecca Roberts and her narration is spot on. I can almost visualize the people in the book simply by how their voice sounds. I love how Rebecca makes me forget that I am actually listening to a book, and not watching a movie! Looking forward to book 3!!

Hungery for more

The last book in this series left me hungry for more. (Pardon the pun) Fontainne is able to balance gore and emotions; which is a challenge in this genre. Roberts is my new favorite narrator. Bravo!

Keeps getting better

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Regina and Marlene scene when everyone had to abandon Wal-Mart

Any additional comments?

I wish these books were longer. I still think this series is one of the better zombie stories. Very good performances by the narrator. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Excellent Sequel!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tainted Reality?

The death of two characters (can't say more without spoiling the story) that actually made my jaw drop!

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Roberts – was your favorite?

I have several characters that I like and hope they survive into the 3rd book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I enjoyed this sequel so much that if I hadn't needed to get to bed, I definitely would have finished in just one sitting. Only took two sittings because this story really grabs onto you and won't let go!

Any additional comments?

I am so excited for the 3rd installment! Can't wait!

All Around Entertaining

Very enjoyable! Zombies are running wild so a group of people hide out in Walmart. I thought that was hilarious but heck why not? They have access to drugs, clothing, food, bedding – everything. Their utopia is short lived when the government and military get involved. The Walmarters who are seeking a safe place are forced out or die.
As a science nerd I was amused by how the doctor determined what was causing people to become zombies. The explanation was sound enough to be believed yet corny in a sense. Brilliant. There’s plenty action, death and suspense. It was a difficult book for me to put down. I recommend listening to it in one sitting. It’s also fairly short.
Rebecca Roberts does a great job with the narration and performance. All around entertaining. I received this book free from Audiobook Boom for an honest review.

Excellent!!!!

This is book 2 so may contain spoilers for book 1, though I do try not to post any!!

This edition sees the group trying to reach the the local Walmart, believing they will be safe there for the time being. But when the military hear word of this, they are willing to do all they can to take out the untested. I can't really say much more without spoiling things for you, so all I'll say is wow, this was an emotional rollercoaster!! Loyalties are tested, friendships made, lives lost and a whole lot of Zombie action!

Once again, the author takes this to another level. The pot of this one is incredibly fast paced and gripping. In book one, the scene is set but here we see the devastation that it has caused. We also see the doc responsible for the cure witnessing just what he helped create, albeit unwillingly. The author gives just enough blood and gore to satisfy the zombie lovers but she also creates a story you become invested in and characters that will capture your heart. There isn't one negative thing I can say about this book and I'm more than looking forward to book 3!! Bring it on!!!!

Ashley Fontainne never fails to deliver in her writing! This author can spin one hell of a tale and always throws in twist after twist. I have never failed to be awed by what happens and I honesty think she is one of the most overlooked authors. I HIGHLY recommend her work and hope that more people read them!!!

Rebecca Roberts is amazing. Truly a great narrator and she never fails to deliver. Highly recommend both this book and this narrator.

Book 2

Any additional comments?

Tainted Reality by Ashley Fontainne is Book II of The Rememdum Series. Tainted Reality picks up where Tainted Cure left off. This is one horror story that will have you wondering….could this really happen? It was hard to pause and I wanted to keep listening.

Totally Engaging and Riveting

The zombie action is thick and keeps you cringing at those hungry monsters as they surround WalMart, where they are trying to stop the squirmish. The police Chief, Regina Parker, has a small group of survivors hiding, making friends with each other, and watching the carnage happening right outside. The infiltrating zombies are certainly keeping them all on their toes.

Ashley Fontainne has brought me into a genre that I had never suspected I could love. But these books are amazing.

I am listening to the audiobook and it is wonderful to hear Rebecca Roberts as the narrator. As she has a wide variety of voices that she shares throughout the book. You learn to recognize each character by their voice.

I didn't want to include anything that would spoil book one if you haven't read it. This is a series that is entertaining and emotional.

When special fiercely strong people are wounded and facing death, I cried. These strong, wonderful people are so close to me after two books.

The destruction is intense and the story riveting.

the narration was perfect, the voices that Rebecca gave the characters spoke highly of their personalities. She brought the characters to life and made the book even more exciting.

Tainted Love for Rememdium

As follow ups go this is a real knock out! Book One started us in on the outbreak caused by the tainted cure that is quickly wiping humanity off the map. Book two takes us on a journey for survival with the additional burden of a search for the cure to the cure. A cure to end all cures maybe harder to find with all the destruction, death, and living dead that now fill the world, but that isn't going to stop the survivors from trying. I will say, that things don't look so good, and that this may be the end of our species as we know it.

First of all, this is a brilliant concept for the zombie genre, it is original and as fresh as an hour old corpse. This helps differentiate this from all of the hundreds of other zombie novels out there. That is amazing to me, because 15 years ago I could hardly find any real novels or series that took place in a zombie apocalypse. Nowadays everybody's next door cat has a zombie story to look at. Fontainne is one of those tricksy writers who misleads you in one direction only to have the real action happen somewhere else.

One thing I like is that Fontainne gives us four groups to follow as they try to figure out how to stop this medical miscarriage. Ashley knows that you need a plethora of characters to work with, because there is going to be a high attrition rate. As I said in a prior review of the first book, this book does not skimp on the blood, guts, and gore. It is a bucketful of chum ready to be dumped over your imagination. So be prepared, as this series aint for the squeamish.

Roberts is one of my favorite female narrators, and to say that after one book tells you how good she is. She plays men and women equally well, and manages to pick up the pace when the action demands it, and subtly amp up the tension with just her voice. She really takes this story and runs away with it.

This is fantastic set of books to get started on, Don't miss out!!!!! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
