About this listen

You met Romeo Prince in the Amazon and USA Today best-selling novel Sweet Home. Now hear the story from his lips: unbarred, uncensored, and raw to the bone.

It makes me laugh when I hear folks think Molly and I rushed into things too fast, spouting that we couldn't possibly have felt what we did for each other in such a short space of time. I say, how the hell would they know? We made it, didn't we? She became my whole life, didn't she? And as for my folks not being real, being true? Tell that to me aged 10, 11, 12 - damn, all my bastard life - when I was never enough, when I was beaten until I bled for being too good at football and not being everything they'd dreamed: the perfectly dutiful son. Tell that to thousands of kids around the world getting wailed on by asshole parents for whatever stupid reason; tell them evil doesn't exist in their eyes.

F--k Romeo and Juliet. This is the story of me and my girl, from my lips. No mushy sentiment, no cheese, just the plain, hard truth, and, because I'm feeling generous, I'm going to let you in on more of our story, too.

Sweet Rome is a new adult companion novel to Sweet Home. It contains adult content, sexual situations, and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

Horrible Narration

I read Sweet Home and Sweet Rome first, the story is okay if you are looking for something to just keep you occupied.

David Radford has ruined the character of Rome, he doesn't sound like the broody masculine football jock that is portrayed in the book.

Was a feel good story but also “Meh”

Who doesn’t love a happy end and a love story? The accents were narrated dreadfully and painful after a few chapters. The parents were excessively abusive and far fetched for any era. Love story was cute but his steamy sex was over the top- again and again on so many levels. Got to be too predictable with his intentions and their sex life. Meh overall.

Lovely book!

This audiobook was a delightful retelling of the first book in series Sweet Home, but from Romeo's point of view. I especially loved the last 3 chapters which showed the very happy ending. The narrator did a wonderful job with his southern drawl, sounding like he actually was from Alabama. Loved it!

Not Much New Here

I really like this series but it seems that about 90% of this book could be a ditto of Sweet Home. I would have enjoyed it more if Sweet Home was dual POV and 2 hours longer. I did enjoy hearing it from Rom's POV but I felt like I listen to the same story told twice. One good thing about that is that David Radford does a much better Rome than Anna Parker-Naples.

If you listened to Sweet Home you can skip this one. But I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.

This series is so addicting!

5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!

I usually don't like to read the retelling of a story in the male POV but this one is the best I have read/listened to in a long time. It was great to get Rome's side of the story and to hear his feelings and what was going on with him.
I can't say this enough. Tillie Cole is amazing! The versatility with which she writes is awe inspiring. She has quickly become a top favorite of mine and continues to move up on my Crazy Ass Stalking List.
I loved David Radford as the narrator. He did an amazing job with all the characters, accents and all.
I look forward to delving into Lexi and Austin's story next in Sweet Fall.

Should've Listened to the Reviews

I broke my own rule. I read the reviews and then ignored them. And now I'm going to say what they already said.

This is mostly a retelling of the story in book one, just from Romeo's POV. I don't know about you but I don't want to re-read a story - even if another person is telling it. There was a bit more added into the end but I honestly don't see why this couldn't have been part of Sweet Home.

Love the characters but wish the author hadn't strung us into two books when she could've accomplished the same story using multiple POV in one book.

Great Book!

5 out of 5 Stars

Sweet Rome is book 1.5 in the Sweet Home Seires. I really enjoyed Sweet Rome and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Rome and Molly. Sweet Rome is Rome's POV from Sweet Home. Sweet Rome does have some new content too.

I loved reading this book but listening...

Again this book is awesome if you enjoy reading the "other side" of books you previously read. The performance is awful. I couldn't even listen to it. Another read only for me.

🥰🥰🥰

Awwoh! 🥰 This picks up directly where book one ends, with a recap from Rome's perspective, and continuing the romance. They are too cute together!

Love it!

Storyline was inspiring, characters jumped off the pages. Excellent writing I will definitely recommend this series.
