About this listen

Sadie Higgins has a bad habit of bailing her brother out of trouble. But when he rustles a herd of cattle from the tough, honorable Kendrick brothers, it's Sadie who's in for it. Because the cowboy tracking them down is big, silent, and forbidding as hell.

Rory Kendrick is on the hunt to find out who's been stealing from him. When he stumbles upon Sadie in the woods, he barely recognizes the quiet, vulnerable beauty who has always taken his breath away. His mission shifts in an instant: He will do anything it takes to keep her safe...and make her his.

Sadie has always protected her family - no matter the price. But when Rory ropes her heart, she's forced to take a look at her life and make a dangerous choice, one that could cost - or gain - her everything.

Stiff Cowboy gets the girl

He seems cold, distant, that is until he finds a woman strung up in a tree barely alive then the cold cowboy becomes the ever primitive bear. This intense story was amazing, so pumped me up for more of the brothers and expanding the family that Grandpa Sammy is wishing for. Love it.

Sadie and Rory. Can he keep her from harm

The first time Rory saw Sadie she was nearly frozen, stabbed and barbwired to a tree. He frees her and gets her hospitalized. He spends hours with her as she recuperates. His cattle are being stolen, and her brother and the cruel man who wired her to the tree are involved. Characters are well drawn. Narrator does a fine job.

not impressed

the story starts out good for several chapters. Then the writing was like many others wrote the sex parts. The romance without the sex was ok. I got the feeling the reader as well as the writer was not comfortable. The sex parts were truly unnecessary to the story. Also how can people have sex , she miss her period and be pregnant all in less than a couple weeks. It might of even been a week. The timing was so off in the story because of that.

Family dealing with a Meth Addict and Dealers

Two points taken off for beginning scene of violence and torture. this is a running theme throughout story which is a usual girl needs saving romance. But too much violence or threat of violence for my taste. I would not recommend to my friends.

One more good Montana story

Would you consider the audio edition of Stone Cold Cowboy to be better than the print version?
I guess so.

What other book might you compare Stone Cold Cowboy to and why?
Other Montana Men books.

What about Coleen Marlo’s performance did you like?
Nice voice. Just one of the female caracters got a rather manly voice that was a distraction.

Any additional comments?
I generally dislike the very violent start of all books in this series, but on the other side I see, why this is necessary to give the men that very caring and protective side that drives the stories.

HOT COWBOYS!

This is a sweet story of love, loss and family. There is not a lot of graphic sex, which was nice for a change. The story revolves around two people who come together over family trouble and end up making a family of their own. The relationship moved a bit fast for me but I find that common in most romance books. There are several "other" characters in the book and Ryan eludes to what I can only assume are the spin off stories. If your in the mood for a sexy, sweet, sincere romance novel, this ones for you. Plus Coleen Mario, the narrator is amazing! Enjoy your visit to Montana, who knows you might too fall in love with a Kendrick cowboy.

Modern Day Old Fashion Love Story Wait What??

I know the title is an oxymoron but it's the perfect description of this book! Sadie is a small town girl just trying to work her way slowly... ok, very slowly through college. She'd get there a lot faster if she didn't have her no account brother being a major albatross around her neck!

When she inadvertently stumbles across her brother, a part of a band of miscreants, rustling cattle from the most formidable man in town, Rory Kendricks! Her cowardly brother, who's in way over his head, literally leaves her hanging.

Rory rescues Sadie and being the noble woman she is, she vows to repay Rory for cattle stolen by her baby brother.

As feelings grow between Sadie and Rory grow, can Sadie let go of her brother to embrace her future?

While this book deals with the modern day effects of the meth epidemic, it really is a sweet old fashioned love story and I liked it!

Cowboy themed and Meth Addiction World

This was an interesting surprise. The story brings out the family anguish and destruction of drug addiction. No fluff. A love story also. The relationships are believable in rural Montana ranch life.
