Totally a must read--5/5 Best one yet

OK--were into book 5

This is a full length book that has all the characters in place--you start the story on the go and the action and pace just try to keep up. Shit happens, like every day, but it is now intwining into the school and it's functions. Devon Sanders is in high gear trying to put things back to what they used to be--and get the school going again, until he finds those characters from the school are backing him -- and we shift into high gear!

You must read the books from 1. It will help you understand the characters and how they work or don't work that well together. (the interplay)

Great book for adult and for minors. I like this because I can read it with my children and it gives us both a point of interest.

Well worth the read and credit. Engaging while entertaining--every minute.

Splendiferous!

I have really enjoyed this series and hope that the author has a few more stories to tell about Devin. Good work!

Devon's World

Entering the magical wizarding world as Devon has come to know it is like being on a rollercoaster. The action never stops and the characters that accompany him on this ride get better with each book.

For your sanity, read the series starting with the 1st book. It it is well worth the time.

I can't wait to read how Devon deals with his new job.

I'm very sad this story had to come to an end...

10/10 book. I grew very attached to the characters as the book progressed and feel a pang of sadness now that I've finished it. Will be looking for more by this author.

Strong Paranormals defeat a Supervillain

Where does Soul Guard rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is always an odd question for me. I can say that it is an urban fantasy series that I highly recommend to others. I really like it and I am seriously hoping there will be more books in this series!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Soul Guard?

Oh! There's so many!
Vampire Prison
Astrid seeming two faced
Finding out all about Langrell's red ball
Rocky and Devon underwater
A shadowwalker (Cretia's) is relieved of his master's control
Felicity helps - that alone was like... whaaat?!

What about Todd Menesses’s performance did you like?

He's just got such a great presence and such an extraordinary voice and he flawlessly moves from one character to the next. I'm impressed.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Devon Sanders & Scooby-gang save the day

Any additional comments?

Rain Oxford's Elemental Series Book #5: Soul Guard

This was an exceedingly well written book with a lot of great magic, imagery and life. It wasn't my favorite in the series though. Even though it kind of had the fifth element of the soul/spirit...I really missed the elements of earth, air, fire and water setting the undertone of the book.

The super-villain of the series is finally dealt with and we find out how he became who he is. That was definitely a tugs-on-the-heartstrings part of the book that Rain Oxford is great at!

I loved Rocky, the gargoyle familiar of Devon, in this book. Rocky just has this great personality and always acts with such authority and clarity and does it all without hesitation. Everyone should have a Rocky in their life!

We learn even more about Langrell's red ball.

There are some parts that are repeated from book 4 but they are necessary to the story and tie in the new bits of information very well!

Todd Menesses continues to do a great job narrating. I feel like I did when watching Dick Tracy films as a kid.

There's a cliffhanger at the end that can lead into a whole other book and I hope that it will.

I really have enjoyed all of this books in this series and I highly recommend it to others.

Devon, Darwin, Henry and Scott are completely loveable and I will miss listening to them! Fingers crossed for a book 6!

Best one yet!

Okay, so this has been a fairly serious series, with some fun, quirky characters (think Harry Dresden meets Harry Potter) and there was this moment, for me, when I laughed so hard I needed to take a break. Seriously, there are some pretty good one-liners scattered throughout the series, but there was this one... The epilogue also raised some really interesting questions, so I'm dying for the next book! If you haven't started the Elemental series yet, do so. It's excellent and complicated, without being overwhelming. The voice actor does a great job with the material, so it's definitely worth the credit to listen.
