About this listen

Roxie’s on the run from a bad boyfriend who will not catch the hint that it is o-v-e-r. She’s in no mood for love at first sight, but when her eyes fall on Hank, it’s trouble from the get-go. Roxie tries to hold Hank at arm's length but Hank wants to be a closer (as in, a lot closer). Roxie’s trouble catches up with her and Hank wants to help but Roxie knows in her heart that she’s no good for a white-hat guy. The problem is no one agrees with her, especially her crazy hippie best friend Annette or her parents; the even crazier small-Indiana-town Herb and Trish. Toss into the mix the gang from Rock Chick and Rock Chick Rescue and Roxie finds herself totally outnumbered.

Climb in for another Rock Chick wild ride through Rock Chick Redemption. As the odds stack up against Roxie, she has no choice but to hold on and just ride it out through the kidnappings, car chases, society parties, a riot at the strip club, Hank getting "Mom Bombed" and one crazy night at the Haunted House.

During all this Hank works at convincing her she really wants to stay and he, along with the Hot Bunch, go all out to make her safe. Hank also needs to work on showing Roxie that her past decisions don’t mean her future can’t include something as downright delicious as…normal.

Sweet, sweet Jesus!

Would you consider the audio edition of Rock Chick Redemption to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, but I can't imagine it would be any better than the audio. It was ably performed and completely engaging.

What did you like best about this story?

Where to start?! Action, romance, tons of hilarity. I've gone through the Rock Chick series in order so far, so as of now, this one is definitely my favorite. The heroine wasn't nearly as annoying as Jet in Rock Chick Rescue, and though she was self-deprecating, it wasn't to the point of wanting to tear my hair out. She shares the same insecurities as a lot of women, yet maintains a confidence that the last heroine was sorely lacking.

All of the side characters in this installment were FANTASTIC! They were fully fleshed out and really added to the story. They were engaging without stealing focus from the main storyline.

The action wasn't quite as intense as the previous books for me, but I didn't mind it. If every book was laden with harrowing situations fraught with danger, it would begin to become old hat and expected. I think there was a good balance here, not to dark and dangerous, not to light and fluffy.

What about Susannah Jones’s performance did you like?

She was AMAZING! There were scenes with around 10 characters (probably more) and every single voice was distinct, the emotion of the delivery was right on point, and the pacing was perfect. I've enjoyed her other performances in the series as well as a few that she's done outside the Rock Chick books, and this one was my favorite so far. I think my favorite character was Roxie's mom, Trish, Susannah did a wonderful job with her characterization and delivery.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was hilarious, I laughed so many times! Some chuckles and some real belly laughs, especially when Roxie's mom was around. Thankfully, unlike the last book, my reaction was NOT to toss my iPad across the room because the characters were making me nutty.

Just another great!

Roxie & Hank are just too sweet...But for all the crap...Roxie has a bit of a back bone. That is what I absolutely love about these books. Women with a bit of back bone.

This book did not let me down. I think this one is one of my favorites. I love Roxie's fashion sense and attitude. I love Hanks take charge self and I love that he knew what he wanted and went after it. I wanted to kick Billy's ass myself. I love that we were introduced to Luke. He sounds all types of FINE!! I think I am in love with Vance and Luke!! (LOL) This book had the usual action, humor, and love. This book is definitely worth the credit!

Adventure, action, suspense, romance

I love this series. The great characters, action, suspense, and romance along with humor are so well written and well told. There is a lot of sex and bad language, which I don't like, but the stories are fantastic entertainment. This is mainly Roxie and Hank's story. I love the depth of understanding of the hard things in life shown by this author's words. The narration is very good.

love Roxie and Hank

Rock Chick Redemption - Roxie and Hank, how I loved listening to their audio, so funny at times I often found myself smiling and laughing. Roxie and Tex both have the crazy gene and I adore them both. I love Tex - he has always been a favourite for me during the many rereads I have done of the Rock Chick series, but his crazy side comes across even better on audio.

Hank and Roxie

I really shouldn’t like the high handedness of Hank but Kristen Ashley always seems to write her lead male characters like that and I can’t help but love them. Roxie was awesome, I thought I wouldn’t be a fan with her high maintenance behavior and designer wardrobe but her personality won me over. She reacts just like Tex with booming stubbornness but she also had a tendency to word vomit which would crack me up. The best parts always involved Roxie’s parents, I loved it when they visited and threw even more crazy personality into the mix! Susannah Jones did a great job narrating!

Holy Moly, I thought Lee was yummy. But Hank has him beat. It’s the quiet ones you have to look out for I swear.

Hank oh Hank.. He is a cop with a heart of gold I swear. And when Roxie comes strolling in to his life she turn it upside down.

Roxie is Tex’s niece, so when she needs help getting an ex off her back she goes to Uncle Tex. Only when she gets there she walks in to Fortnums and POW she see Hank aka Whisky as she thinks of him because his eyes capture her.

‘They were all looking at me, but the minute my eyes hit Whisky, I felt light head and had to stand stalk-still or I’d have fallen over in a dead faint’ - Roxie

Trying to shake her ex isn’t as easy as one would think, so she isn’t in the mood for a relationship but Hank isn’t taking no for an answer. He sees what he wants and he is going for it. But boy does Roxie not make it easy on him. All good things come to those who have to fight a little harder to get it, I say.

“But you saw it, you’re in the middle of it now and II hate that. I’ve gotten used to his stink on me. I can’t allow his stink to settle on you.” - Roxie

I laughed more in this book than the last 2 because omg Roxie’s parents are a HOOT! And Tex is just as funny and witty as always but he has more of a roll this time or it seems like it.

“Can’t say this is the best neighborhood, but four slashed tired? That has to be a record.” “Unle Tex—“ I started. “Welp!” he boomed, bending over to pick up my suitcases. “Guess you aren’t leavin’ today.”

What are you waiting for read this series; I love how this narrator has a voice for every character but not in a cheesy way. It just flows so effortlessly.
