Publisher's summary
I was fine with the life I lived. After what happened, I settled into not being wanted by everyone. I'd become invisible, and I liked it that way. I had my Gran, a shitty job, and my love for photograph. What else did a girl need? I'd planned to save enough to get me across the country, I just had to play my cards right. Everything was in place until they showed up. Beautiful bastards that forced their way through my carefully crafted walls. It took one night with all three and I knew I belonged to them. Dante, Chase, and August were all Heathens. They woke up the part of me that I tried to keep hidden, making me realize that red looks really good on me.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

A great spooky romance
So I read this book and it was a definitely a top read for me. So I was excited to listen to the audiobook. Overall I would give the performance a 4 star. The narrator did a great job with all the different pov’s. For me I realized I would have loved different narrators since the story has different pov’s. Having both male and females narrator telling a story with different pov’s would have been amazing. The narrator did a great job capturing Trinity voice and angst. The story is amazing so nothing cant take away from that.
Trinity comes from a broken home and is doing the best she can to save money so she can get out of town. While spending the day at the beach she meets Lucifer. Hot, tattooed, leather wearing alpha male who is perfect to scratch her itch. They have a steamy interaction until it takes a turn and blood is shed. Gran wants Trinity to play nice with the new neighbors and makes her invite them to dinner. Dante, Chase, and August are in town for work and have now decided that making Trinity a part of their life is the task at hand. A few interactions in this book that had me laughing so hard and most of them involved Gran. Trinity and the 3 Men give off enough spice to last a lifetime. All the interactions both individually or in a group are so good. The book had a nice flow to it.

OMG
This is most definitely one of my favorite Halloween reads. This book will open your eyes to the world of horror that no one wants to think about. But the way she talks about it is one of the best ways I have read. Can’t wait to see if there will be another book to this one. Loved it

Great Narration
I'm not one who usually likes 1 narrator doing audiobooks because a lot of the time it just sounds weird and feels awkward. However, I think Sarah did a fantastic job making her voice sound different for every single character, and the voices she used fit the personality of each character.

Okayyyy Grandma Betty, you dirty ole girl!
I’m not sure if Gran was waiting to be tagged in or what. 🫣 Even dropped her current spicy read and all.
It was so great getting the chance to relive this book all over again! Queen Of The Night has been my favorite since I first read it last year. I have fallen into the N. Owens rabbit hole once again! Or maybe the sugar cabin in the woods if you really think about it….🫣
A definite 🖤 10/10 🖤 read if you want a great quick spicy Xs 3 Halloween novella!

Great Voices - Easy to Distinguish The Characters
I got to read this story when it first released as an ebook and I loved it! So when she told me there was an audio book I jumped at the chance to read it. The story of course is still just as amazing and I think Sarah really did a fantastic job. The differences in her characters voices were great. She keeps you hooked in the story and really brings the emotions of the book to life.
