Publisher's summary

Romance is in the air on Harrington Street, Oxford. Detective Inspector Ian Chisholm is finally showing interest in Lucy, though the members of the vampire knitting club aren't too thrilled to have the police hanging around so close to Cardinal Woolsey's yarn shop. Up the street at Frogg Books, shop assistant Alice is in love with her bookish boss, Charlie, who doesn't seem to notice.

Lucy's trying to become more proficient as a witch and when her cousin Violet talks her into brewing up a love potion to bring Alice and Charlie together, it seems like a harmless way to improve her craft.

Until someone dies. Is Lucy's love potion more deadly than cupid's arrow? Or is there a killer on the loose?

Lucy Does It Again

Aside from the totally obvious shenanigans of college guys spiking a communal beverage, this was a thoroughly enjoyable story. I can’t wait to see how Chisolm tries to get back into Lucy’s good graces 🙄

Love Potion Problems & Midsummer Night's Murder

Emma is back with her friends we've come to know and enjoy. This time testing out her magic helping a desperate next door business neighbor with a love potion. But in typical story fashion the love potion goes a little awry and in the middle of helping with a theater department of Oxford who is putting on a performance of Midsummer Night's Dream. While hi-jinks abound the fun and games dissolve when a missing person and murder are found. There are twists and turns as well as mixed up love angles in this fifth edition in the series. Narration continues to be wonderful and the developing interactions of Emma with Rafe and Ian are enjoyable, especially the aspects of the special bond between Emma and Rafe. The pacing and story line are fun and engaging and I was amused that this one had kind of an Agatha Christie bring all the suspects together to reveal the killer moment at the end. For fans of the series you are sure to enjoy this episode.

The ending!

ngl this book was highly unimpressive. I didn't really enjoy it, it lacked a lot of the (sort of) depth of the others, BUT THAT ENDING WAS FANTASTIC! also the narrator is back to speed reading the chapters and that's annoying

Light Romance, Magic, & Knitting

Cute, light, funny whodunit series listen. Much like other hobby themed mystery books. Moments that made me laugh, trying to guess whodunit & which potential love interest the protagonist will choose.
