About this listen

Permaculture made easy! Discover how you can create a sustainable garden in just nine simple steps.

Gardening remains one of the most prominent trends in the world right now, existing in many forms, shapes, and even sizes–ranging from something as simple as a lawn to purpose-built kitchen gardens, orchards, and more.

However, in all these versions, there is one element that hardly gets addressed: sustainability.

Conventional gardening practices–for something as simple as planting herbs or growing vegetables–might be green, but are not truly eco-friendly.

And this is where permaculture comes into play.

Developed in the 1970s, permaculture is what you’d call a holistic practice, aimed at not only providing food security to individuals and communities, but also restoring nature as a whole.

Permaculture is all about imitating nature to develop a sustainable ecosystem that gives back to nature more than it takes away, all without using any damaging gardening or farming practices.

In this beginner-friendly permaculture handbook, you will discover:

  • A hands-on approach to start permaculture gardening in just nine steps–find out how to make sustainability a key part of your lifestyle.
  • The 12 core design principles of permaculture philosophy, demystified.
  • How to survey your backyard and smartly plan your garden.
  • Imitating nature for success–maximize your yield and gardening efficiency by using the seven layer concept of permaculture design to plant trees, shrubs, herbs, and more
  • How to take care of your garden using simple management techniques, zero-waste practices, and natural pest management.

And much more!

Are you ready to make nature your permanent gardening partner? Create a biodiverse ecosystem that supports your needs while restoring nature the permaculture way by listening to this audiobook!

Amazing book and excellent information!

Extremely well-written and helpful book that is perfect for beginners without overwhelming you. The narrator sometimes pauses for just a second in some odd spots, but otherwise has excellent timbre and cadence, with great expression. Absolutely recommend this book as an audible that can be listened to while driving or working outside! I listened to most of it while mowing my future orchard. :)

Excellent Resource

The narrator mis-pronounced so many words. The mis-pronunciations were a distraction and caused me to stop and interpret the word/words.

A Must-Listen for All Gardeners!

I just finished listening to the Permaculture Gardening Handbook and I have to say, I am blown away! This audiobook is a comprehensive guide that provides an in-depth look at permaculture and how it can be used to create a sustainable and self-sufficient ecosystem in your own backyard.

One of the things that stood out to me was the emphasis on working with nature rather than against it. The book explains how permaculture gardens are designed to mimic natural ecosystems, resulting in an environment that is more resilient to pests, diseases, and climate variations. As someone who has struggled with these issues in the past, I found this approach to be refreshing and effective.

The narrator was also such a pleasure to listen to, with a clear and engaging voice that kept me hooked throughout the entire audiobook. I appreciated the pace and tone of the narration, which made it easy to follow along and understand the concepts being discussed.

Overall, I highly recommend the Permaculture Gardening Handbook to anyone who is interested in sustainable gardening practices. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, this audiobook has something for everyone. From the 12 core design principles of permaculture philosophy to simple management techniques and natural pest management, this guide covers it all. Don't miss out on this must-listen audiobook!

How to successfully build a permaculture garden

I enjoyed the style of writing by the author. He made it understandable and explained why specific methods work and why some things shouldn't be done.
I liked how the steps were broken down and builds on each other. I think it would be easy for me to reference back to the section if I need to recall something specific.
I rather read this book on my own, because I don't care for the tone of the reader. It reminded me of an infomercial in an exaggerated fake radio voice. Its harsh, but the commercial reading style minimizes the content of the book.

Wow! What a Great Guide!

I was so impressed by this audiobook. I think I'll buy the paper/book version too! It's more than a guide, it seems more like an encyclopedia of all the important things a truly earth friendly gardener should know. I applaud you for introducing these important topics and expanding on them to improve our ecosystem.

Embracing Nature's Blueprint

Never thought I'd be the gardening type until I stumbled upon this audiobook. It's a game-changer for anyone looking to dive into permaculture without getting overwhelmed. The 9-step guide is brilliantly simple and actionable. It's not just about planting; it's about creating an ecosystem that's in harmony with nature. The chapters on water management and inviting biodiversity into the garden were eye-openers. Now, I look at my backyard and see a thriving, self-sustaining world. This audiobook is a must for anyone curious about making their garden a part of nature’s cycle, not just a space outside their door.
