Acerca de esta escucha

Organizing Solutions for People with ADD, 2nd Edition outlines new organizing strategies that will be of value to anyone who wants to improve their organizational skills. This revised and updated version also includes tips and techniques for keeping your latest technologies in order and for staying green and recycling with ease.

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are prevalent in society today, afflicting about 4.4 percent of the adult population - over 13 million Americans. Four out of every five adults do not even know they have ADD.

The chapters, organized by the type of room or task, consist of practical organizing solutions for people living with ADD:

  • At work: prioritizing, time management, and organizing documents
  • At home: paying bills on time, decluttering your house, scheduling and keeping appointments
  • With kids: driving them to various activities, grocery shopping and meals, laundry, babysitters, organizing drawers and closets
  • And you: organizing time for your social life, gym, and various other hobbies and activities

I think the book itself isn’t bad, but the narration just a bit too precious sounding for me to enjoy.. The perfect enunciation of each syllable, each, with, a, decided, pause, became annoying with each chapter making it difficult to listen to the book in its entirety. But I did finish it completely.
Although the Author included many very applicable solutions, they became repetitive and often downright unrealistic. I feel the book simplifies the solutions from the standpoint of Someone who organizes for a living rather than how someone suffering from ACHD could accomplish on their own.

Repetitive Solutions

ADHD has always made maintaining organizational systems at home a challenge for our family. The author takes an empathetic and clearly researched approach that allows people with ADHD to finally find practical methods to maintaining an organized household. I would recommend it to anyone with ADHD or living with someone with ADHD. It has been incredibly helpful to us!

Just what our family needed!

As someone with ADD, that has been given MANY tips and criticisms from non-ADDers, I feel she did a great job! Main take away is LESS STEPS! I have only reorganized my closet, and added more laundry baskets since reading but they have already helped! As with all self help books, take what you like and leave the rest!

Many good tips
