Acerca de esta escucha

An empowering and witty guide to banishing shame and living your fullest life with ADHD—plus tips for loved ones on helping them navigate this world, too—from viral duo ADHD_Love.

What if you stopped feeling ashamed of constantly being late or of getting so hyperfocused on a task that you drop everything else you had to do? How can you as a partner, parent, or friend better understand your neurodivergent loved one’s way of moving through the world?

In Dirty Laundry, life partners Rich Pink and Rox Emery unapologetically guide you through the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Every chapter starts with a common symptom of ADHD, like impulsivity or struggles with finances, and an earnest moment from their own lives to show you how they navigate the symptom together. Rox reminds you to be kind to yourself and love yourself for who you are; Rich offers tips on how he uses compassion and honesty instead of jumping to conclusions. Whether it's helping your ADHDer with friendly time-checks before an appointment or reminding yourself to take breaks during hours spent hyperfocusing on a new project, Rox and Rich give you the tools to destigmatize and normalize life with ADHD.

This book will make even the most "eccentric" nuerodivergents feel seen. Thank you two so much for taking the time to write and record this! I binged the whole thing in one sitting, and I loved it.

Easy listen, NO WEIRD MOUTH BREATHING ~ A kind account of a difficult journey.

Amazing Dual Perspective About Both Sides

Rich and Rox lay out what it’s like to experience ADHD life for both those experiencing it and those who love someone with it. As a newly diagnosed person, myself, I found myself almost acting surprised (lol) when Rox would tell of some of her moments with it because for so long, I chalked mine up to everything and anything but ADHD. Both do a fantastic job of describing some of the challenges and benefits of a life with ADHD. Cannot recommend this book enough, especially for those in a relationship with someone who does not have ADHD.

Brutal (but beautiful) honesty

Absolutely amazing, I cried through most of it because I've never felt seen before, and this made me feel it for sure

I was so happy there was an audiobook for this book! I used to struggle trying to read 5 books at a time because unless I was really into it, I wasn't going to finish. The number if accidental naps, oh boy.

Audio books have been my saving grace as I can listen to the story or use them as background while doing various work/tasks. We lusten to informative books over & over gaining more each time.

This book was both engaging & informative. I got through it in 2 work days & will repeat it soon. I recommend it to several others.

Thank you R & R for this book, sharing your trials & triumphs with us really is helpful.

I will help you 2 out with a recommendation of a TV show, Wynonna Earp. The seasons & series are short but fun, heartful & humorous, much like yourselves, and you can surface watch or try to dig deep into it's meaning. Rabbit hole through the actors & associations. choose you're own adhd or neurotypical adventure!

My ADHD GenX brain was happy to listen

At 46, I'm in the research and discovery phase of my own potential ADHD diagnosis, Rox and Rich offer a relatable dual-perspective on living with ADHD, regardless of one's neurological status, and with such loving care that I feel safe and hopeful about wherever this journey leads.

I laughed out loud, teared up, smiled, and knowingly nodded along in recognition of some of the scenarios presented. The tips, strategies, and even vocabulary thoughtfully light a path to deeper understanding and acceptance of neurodivergence.

Illuminating

I've listened to this book while driving around. At times, I've had to pull over to laugh, to cry, and sometimes to concentrate on what was being said.

It is an amazing read/listen. I preferred the Audible version simply because hearing it in voices that I already know from their social media accounts made me feel comfortable. It was like they were talking to my partner (neurotypical) and I helping us understand one another better. It almost became like we were all having a conversation together.

It helped explain things to me that no one has been able to in years of treatment. Then, it helped explain it to my partner why I am the way I am.

I recommend it to anyone with ADHD and they should go ahead and buy a copy for their partner, future partner, and family members.

Best Book Ever

This book is an answer to prayer for me, and for my wife. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

In true ADHD fashion, I wanted to interrupt every story to tell my own version of how this particular thing showed up in my life. I related to almost everything

I related so much
