I really wanted to like this. The premise is good and the author interviewed well on Rich Roll’s podcast. But it is honestly just not good.
It’s basically mid-level writing that briefly references a lot of other people’s well-researched and published insights (e.g., Man’s Search for Meaning, the concept of Flow, failure as a good thing… you get the idea) interspersed with an excessive amount of his humble bragging and a few overly long anecdotes about other people.
If you don’t listen to health & wellness podcasts or read any books or articles on the subject, you may get something out of this. If you do, you’ve heard all of this before. Instead, I’d invest in a book written by someone who actually has their own ideas.
