Phenomenal performance

I've stuck it out through so many hours of this series and enjoyed every last one of them. The narration is amazing and the story fantastic. Nicholas and Ben are such well rounded characters, as are the supporting cast within the stories. It's been a great experience so far.

My favorite series of all

You can read the synopsis, so I won’t repeat it here. The top-notch quality of both the storytelling and the narration made it impossible for me to put it down. Nik and Ben are probably my favorite characters of all this genre (although there are a couple of other couples who come really close, and the books are also narrated by Gary Furlong). The complexity of the characters and the way the plot unfolds are riveting. This is one of only three series that, upon finishing, I immediately started the whole thing over again. High heat factor, fabulous voice acting, writing, and plot twists all make up why I’d give the entire series ten stars if I could.

Meaningfully Traumatic

Even though this series is a minefield of major triggers including child s*xual abuse, toxic relationship dynamics, torture, murder, violent homophobia, internalized homophobia, and more…I can help but report that I find the writing and narration excellent. So many authors use the above traumatic elements as plot or character development devices and end up cheapening the impact of trauma on the people who experience it. This series shows the deep and devastating short-and long-term impacts of these events in a way that can help the reader understand what real people may go through with such life experiences.

That so much could happen to two people is completely unrealistic, yet believable and compelling in the context of a fiction series. The characters are deeply flawed in relatable ways, yet endearing in other relatable ways, and the side characters are well developed and interesting.

I’m so glad this second bundled volume was made available and I eagerly anticipate the third installment, which I hope comes soon!

Amazing Narration

I am currently obsessed with this series. The characters are incredibly well developed and keep evolving throughout the series! I suggest the audio version because the narration is wonderful.

The standard has been set!!!!

I listen to at least 4 audiobooks a week - lots of hits and misses- lots of listening at 2.0 speed just not to put on my rare DNF list…now with that being said -THIS IS THE BEST SERIES EVER! Please use your credits here - dark M/M romance meets the spirit of James Bond - Indiana Jones and billionaire Bruce Wayne!!! I listened to the Amazing narration at 1.2 speed - so many gasps, laughs, screams, sighs and smiles!!! The standard has been met!!!
