First Time Lucid Dreamer

Any additional comments?

Before listening to this book, I didn't have any experience with lucid dreaming. I listened to this audio before taking a nap. The first time nothing happened - but the second time - I was actually able to be aware in my sleep. It was not a long dream (I was again only napping during attempt number two). I also noticed that I went in and out of being aware that I was dreaming.

For example, I would realized that I was dreaming for a few moments and then as the dream progressed, my realization would fade, and then randomly come back again. Re-realizing sort of felt alarming for a moment, but I quickly got used to it.

I must say, it is an unusual experience to be able to lucid dream. I am still training my brain with this audio and following the tips. I will be attempting to lucid dream during longer sleep sessions, though then I would probably need a dream journal to remember exactly what happened and how the lucid dreaming went.

I am generally impressed with this audio, as you can also fall asleep to the music once it fades out of the meditation. I had the music on while napping, and I think the lull of the rhythm helps with inducing an aware dream state.

A useful guided meditation tool

This is a neat guided meditation. I like how the guided meditation is just at the beginning, and then leaves off with an interesting background sound - unlike anything else I've heard up to this point. It is hard for me to meditate when interrupted by someone talking. That the verbal portion to set the listener in the right frame of mind and relaxation is at the front end works best for me.

Like any other tool, a hammer for example, it depends on the listener to focus and silence the "monkey-mind" chatter in order to achieve success.

This audio tool would probably be best used *after* listening to some of the audiobooks on lucid dreaming - some good ones are right here on Audible. Definitely listen to more than one book explaining lucid dreaming in depth. My favorite of the ones I've heard so far is A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming (Audible) - but before I listened to the lucid dreaming books, I read Otherwhere (paperback) by Kurt Leland, and found that book also to be a very good informational foundation. (Along with much previous reading already done in the OBE genre of books - Robert Monroe's trilogy (Audible) and William Buhlman's Adventures in the Afterlife.)

This audio is excellent, although the title would be more accurate: Lucid Dreaming: A Tool for Lucid Dreaming.

The sounds that follow the guided meditation are interesting, the rhythmic and unusual patterns of a rich sound that unexpectedly stops and restarts is different. I enjoyed it and am awed at the skill and talent that creative people have.

Scam

Would you try another book from Gelina Ray and/or Tanya Shaw?

No

Any additional comments?

This book says it is 1 hour and 17 minutes long but in reality it is only about 15 minutes long with about an hour of bad music. DO NOT BUY!

Shouldn't be labeled as an audio book

This was really 15 minutes of talking and 50 minutes to spa music. A 5 minute Internet search would prove as useful as the content.

Not worth your time or money.

Thank God it only cost a few bucks. I think the narrator's voice is supposed to be calming, but it is stiff and robotic. The content is absent. Spend your money on a relaxation CD or MP3 instead. It will be better spent.
