Publisher's summary

A snowstorm hath no fury like a spinster scorned.

Miss Elinora Browning grew up yearning for the handsome, intelligent lord next door...but he left England without a word of farewell. One night, inspired by a bit too much sherry, Nora poured out her heartbreak on paper. Lord Dashwood Missed Out was a love letter to every young lady who'd been overlooked by gentlemen - and an instant best seller. Now she's on her way to speak in Spindle Cove when snowy weather delays her coach. She's forced to wait out the storm with the worst possible companion: Lord Dashwood himself.

And he finally seems to have noticed her.

George Travers, Lord Dashwood, has traveled the globe as a cartographer. He returned to England with the goal of marrying and creating an heir - only to find his reputation shredded by an audacious, vexingly attractive bluestocking and her poison pen. Lord Dashwood Missed Out, his arse. Since Nora Browning seems to believe he overlooked the passion of a lifetime, Dash challenges her to prove it.

She has one night.

Two lovers lying to protect themselves

Enjoyable story of a young woman in love with the boy she grew up with, but he left the area to pursue his dreams without saying goodbye. She is hurt and decides to write about her feelings and publish them as a lesson to other women. He returned and is angered by her writing, since it is about him, but he is hiding his motives. HEA. Good narrative.

Short but sweet ❤️

Adorable. Such a sweet short story to go along with the Spindle cove series. If you enjoyed the other two you will not be disappointed. Narrator was good too.

Spindle Cove, don't miss it!

STORY: Every Spindle Cove book brings a unique little twist to the HEA romance.... Although this one is short it is also oh so sweet.

NARRATOR: Excellent. A stellar performance.

HEAR FACTOR: Softly steamed, but no real heat.

Proving him wrong

Nora has moved on from her childhood crush of Lord Dashwood when he embarrassed her and left her. She found herself in writing about how women can find worth in themselves. This was a short hot read that made me laugh with the banter and cry in the end. The narrator was great, feeling the emotion and feeling the heat between them.

There were parts

There were parts where I laughed out loud. It was predictable but sweet. I have become a big fan of Tessa Dare ...grateful for happy endings and grown up fairytales.

Short and Sweet

Simple read, straight to the point, with a heart warming turn at the end. Although I wouldn’t have mind a little bit more graveling at the end.

It’s a novella, so short and cute, but choppy

I hadn’t noticed that this was a novella. That was fine.
But the story was split about half and half between Nora and Dash’s story, and goings-on in Spindle Cove. I suppose great lovers of the Spindle Cove series and its characters will appreciate seeing beloved characters. Im not familiar with it so I found it mostly distracting and boring. Although I seem to be doing Spindle Cove backwards: the last book “Do you want a scandal?” was the last book of another series, the Castles Ever After series (or Castles something), which intertwined with this series, Spindle Cove. Then this novella.
It’s kind of “meh.” Idea intriguing. But why Dashwood, the main male character left earlier in lifetime to be chartographer, his reappearance is this novella, isn’t really explained and maybe wasn’t meant to be. His excuses for youthful bad behavior didn’t fit the personality we see as a young boy or grown man, so that did t really make a lot of sense either.
The finale was a little abrupt and I although I think I see what author was going for or meant— it could have used a page of explaining or some sprinklings of foreshadowing.
