What a scoundrel wants, a scoundrel gets....
A decade ago, the Marquess of Bourne was cast from society with nothing but his title. Now a partner in London's most exclusive gaming hell, the cold, ruthless Bourne will do whatever it takes to regain his inheritance - including marrying perfect, proper Lady Penelope Marbury.
A broken engagement and years of disappointing courtships have left Penelope with little interest in a quiet, comfortable marriage, and a longing for something more. How lucky that her new husband has access to an unexplored world of pleasures.
Bourne may be a prince of London's illicit underworld, but he vows to keep Penelope untouched by its wickedness - a challenge indeed as the lady discovers her own desires, and her willingness to wager anything for them...even her heart.

Any additional comments?
The first of the series was a bit tedious, but I'm happy I stuck it out for the rest of the series. Each book improved, mainly because the characters became more interesting and developed. Decent historical romance albeit predictable, but then 98% of historical romances are utterly predictable. Fun series.stick it through for the series

When Penelope was left in the front room of a new house sitting alone on a trunk for her wedding night. That was crude!I LOVE!!!

The very best romance novel I have downloaded
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
This is one of the rare stories where I needed both the e-book and audiobook so I could keep the story with me when I wasn't able to read. Super fun and engrossing for sure.
Landor's narration is great (clear, no weird sounds, etc.) aside from her character voices which aren't strong and have little if any variation. In other words, all the female characters sound the same as do all the males.
Exciting series debut
