About this listen
New York Times best-selling author Carla Neggers returns with this absorbing, twisting tale of suspense, romance and fast-paced action, the latest in her popular Sharpe & Donovan series.
Emma Sharpe and Colin Donovan, two of the FBI's most valuable agents, are preparing for their next big assignment - their wedding - when Colin's brother Mike alerts them that onetime friends from his military past are on Sharpe and Donovan home turf on the Maine coast. Now private security contractors, they want to meet with Mike. One of them, an FBI agent named Kavanagh, is supposed to be on leave. What is he investigating - or does he have his own agenda?
Mike zeroes in on Naomi MacBride, a freelance civilian intelligence analyst who, aside from a few hot nights, has never brought him anything but trouble. Newly returned from England, Naomi clearly isn't telling Mike everything about why she's snooping around his hometown, but he has no choice but to work with her if he wants to uncover what's really going on.
But the case soon takes a drastic turn - Emma is targeted, and a connection surfaces between Naomi and Kavanagh and a recently solved international art theft case. Not every connection is a conspiracy, but as the tangled web of secrets unravels, Emma and Colin face their greatest danger yet. With everyone they know involved, they must decide who they can trust...or lose everything for good.

Story
The knight was supposed to be a man. Not me, Sophie MacKnight, a marketing associate from California. This must be a practical joke that the Scots play on visiting Americans. Because otherwise I’ve inherited a haunted castle in Scotland, along with one irritatingly sexy Scotsman. Frankly, I thought I would fly here, sell the heap of bricks, and head back home to a life that I…well, I was comfortable with at the very least. Instead, the people of Loren Brae are in trouble, and it appears that as the new owner of the castle, I’m next in line to reinstate the magickal Order of Caledonia.

Absolutely hate new reader
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I had been enjoying this series, up to now. Ms. Monda is not the correct reader for this series. I can barely listen to her. She annoys me so much that I'm having a hard time keeping up with the story and I keep losing track. I don't care for a "Smokers Voice". It's not entertaining and I keep expecting for her to cough a lung up.
What did you like best about this story?
The main characters are very good, I think. I'm sorry but I'm not enjoying this at all.
Would you be willing to try another one of Carol Monda’s performances?
NO, EVEN IF IT WAS FREE!!!
Do you think Keeper's Reach needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Not even 1/3 through and am having a horrible time listening. Yes because I like Emma and Colin. They accept each other for who they are and what they do does not matter to either of them. They respect each other for who they are.
Any additional comments?
Really dreading listening to Ms. Monda's reading Liar's Key.

I listened to all 9 books in a month!
I have throughly enjoyed this series, so much so that I've listened from the beginning to current in less than a month! It's the family of characters that really draw you in. You might think to predict what could happen next with any of the characters but you will often be surprised. This review is for the entire series to date and each novel has positive and negative. If you prefer to find a great series, understanding how series flow up and down, this one is very enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

I love this series but....
I loved the first 3 books. The 4th book I could barely get through due the narrator. Now book 5, have Carol Monda back, which is good, but OMG... If you have read one of them you have already read this one. I am less than half way through and so far 50% of the book is a just the author repeating what we already know over and over and over again...yes, Emma was nun...yes the good father lost his family...etc, etc, etc, you get the picture. I guess it all adds pages to the book, but my goodness, can't we just get on with the story without having to listen the same descriptions time and time again? All this background is fine ONCE in the book, ( for people who may be new to the series ) but not every page of it. I can't believe I bought 3 extra credits to get the whole series and now I wonder if I can take listening to all the repeating....

Same Names, Same Plot
Would you try another book from Carla Neggers and/or Carol Monda?
Not unless it's a different cast. The covers may be different, but nothing else is.
What could Carla Neggers have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
All her late books are the same. The characters are somewhat interesteing, but there is no plot. The stories go in the same circles and it's just not interesting anymore. I feel like I'm reading the same book over and over.
Have you listened to any of Carol Monda’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, She very good.
What character would you cut from Keeper's Reach?
All, I'd start over
Any additional comments?
Ms Neggers early books were fantastic, but she has lost her touch. This was just not worth the money.
