About this listen

Lucy Peckham has one big problem--Christmas!

Every December 25th brings Lucy the gift of pain, illness, or embarrassment of one sort or another. Steve Andrews was there to bear witness to Lucy's first humiliating Christmas back when they were both children together. Now that they're adults, will the tides finally turn for Lucy, or will this be her worst Christmas ever?

Channeling Judy Blume

“We’ll have to see if we can get it out of him insuspiciously.”
Lucy: “So close, mom, so close.”
Is it weird that my favorite thing about this was Lucy’s mom’s misuse of big words?
The romance was nice, but for me this was more about the com in rom-com.

“Well, isn’t that fruituitous.”
This was a funny novella that had me thinking of the Judy Blume books I read as a kid, the ones where the girl has to deal with normal bodily functions but at the worst possible times.
Periods, the runs, … I was surprised an unfortunately timed fart didn’t make the cut 😜.
It’s physical comedy without the gross factor. It’s also full cozy, F bomb free and fading to black.
In short: the perfect Christmas gingersnap.
