Entertaining.

This is another book that surprised me with how much I liked it. I pretty much listened to it as much as I could and didn't want to take out my headphones. This focuses on Carrie Stewart, who is Chief of a small town, where her usual problems include "meth cooks, pot farmers, drunk and disorderly calls, and the ever-present day to day hassles of running an underfunded police department." But when some live stock turn up with their innards missing and all that are left at the scene are incredibly big wolf tracks, it will take the help of a stranger to unravel the mysteries and catch the killer before it's too late.

I really liked the Chief. She is a no nonsense, strong and caring police officer. She loves the little town and is willing to do, and believe, anything to help it. I liked that, along with the wold mystery, there are also other issues being dealt with, like a lecherous mayor!! She was well written and developed and I was rooting for her throughout the book.

The plot was entertaining, though I would have liked a little more on the origin of the outbreak! It was fairly fast paced and kept my attention throughout too. I do have to say that I had an idea of who the culprit was about 3 quarters of the way through, though it didn't detract from the story.

In all. An engaging and entertaining read. It mightn't be the scariest but that didn't bother me. I like these kinda ones, where there's more story and mystery, rather than just blood and guts. I would like to see more from these characters and can only hope we see a book 2.

Michelle Marie did a good job. She read the story well and had a clear crisp voice. I did find some of her tones to be nearly the same, especially the females, but overall she did good.

Not what I was expecting!

Both the author and narrator were new to me for this book along with the genre. This is the first Werewolf/shifter book that I have listened to. Typically my genres are mystery and romance. I enjoyed this story and thought the beginning started out very realistic and then everything changed. The story kept me guessing and intrigued, it was full of heartbreak and monsters. What a great book!

This book started out good and just got better as it went along. I liked all the characters. This author was new to me so I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I really liked this book. The narrator was good but sometimes her voice annoyed me. Not sure why. The only criticism I have is the overuse of the phrases "he said" and "she said". The author overused these phrases by having them at the end way too many sentences. Drove me crazy but still a good book nonetheless.

Werewolf Thriller

I really enjoyed this intense book especially of the characters of Carrie, Brandy, Shirley and Zane. Near the ending was upsetting and heartbreaking with Brandy, and the actual ending was a little vague. Highly recommend to anyone who likes werewolves. Narration was quite good. Felt like "Teen Wolf" in book form.

What did you like best about Hunted? What did you like least?

The strong female lead held the book together. The other supporting characters were relate-able too.
But the entire story-line was a little boring, since we've already seen stories like this in Teen Wolf / Supernaturals, the book didn't have anything new to offer.

Would you recommend Hunted to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really. They can watch the tv shows instead.

Do you think Hunted needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not really. Unless there's anything new to tell.

Any additional comments?

Big Trouble in Mayberry

This story grabs you from the start and sucks you into a small Mayberry type town stalked by at least two types of beasts. The writing is so good I was dreading the book being over before I was half way through. There is a strong female lead and believable supporting characters. The narration is great. Well worth the time and credit.

What a good book

This one took me thru spins, so it feels like you never stop. Not your ordinary thrilling tale. The settings and characters are second to none, and the narration is smooth. I received this audiobook for free, but voluntarily reviewed.

TWIST AND TURNS AND WORTH THE LISTEN!

Wonderful storyline, awesome characters and packed with action. Not your typical werewolf story for readers (or listeners) that don't like that type of thing. It's a well played out story. Awesome set of characters with backgrounds. I was able to guess some of the mystery early on but never seen the ending coming. I felt and hoped this was turning into a series, the author did leave it open to that. The main character Carrie is AMAZING and makes a great heroine! Narrator's voice was perfect for Carrie. A strong female voice for a strong female character.

Great paranormal with a strong female lead

What did you love best about Hunted?

Wow this book is great. From the kick butt female police chief to the mysterious beasts on the loose there is great action and intrigue. An equally strong male lead comes in and enhanced the story as well. Wonderful narration that fit the characters perfectly. Nice small town Americana characters and paranormal action kept me enthralled all of the way to the end. SO MUCH FUN

Any additional comments?

'Hunted' was some of the most fun I've had listening to a book in a while! Michael Chambers expertly crafts a tale that is suspenseful, authentically romantic, thrilling, paranormal, action-packed and that includes a juicy mystery element that you'll be dying to have solved! Though this book is of the fantasy variety, it felt like I was listening to a story about real people; the characters are filled with life, are at times irritating but somehow still manage to capture my heart. I absolutely loved that the protagonist of this book was a badass, take no prisoners, female Chief of police. The setting of a small town added another element of interest to me as a city dweller. Finally, Michelle Marie is such a fantastic voice actor that she may be my new favorite narrator! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the action genre, fantasy, horror (very light horror) and thrillers. I absolutely loved it! 10/10
