Cool story, different archetype

great narrator, unexpected story that you dont see from a mile away. perhaps a little much fluff added for length & backstory that keeps its epic gold parts from shining. But I won't fault it. still recommend

Werewolves, oh my!

Sveta, a Russian intelligence officer, smells a rat when she is ordered to kill a prisoner being held in a cage. Acting on instinct she turns rogue, frees the prisoner and helps him escape. The tale takes us on a paranormal adventure, complete with werewolves and ancient history going back to the Tsars of Russia. Quite interesting; stay with it. Murky Sorta Werewolf Tale

Did Tainted Blood inspire you to do anything?

It produced a sort of confused yawn.

Any additional comments?

Maybe it was me, but I had a hard time following the story. It seemed to bounce around a lot without a clear purpose until the finale. There are a lot of related characters with a primarily Russian focus. It almost feels like there are too many plot lines woven into the story, some of which never seem to make sense. There are alternate dimensions, historical figures, some science, some magic, some religion, Russian mafia, spies and a werewolf of sorts. Somehow it just never came together and then it ended fairly abruptly and loosely.
Not horrible, but not something I'd listen to again or follow up if there was a sequel.

Not your normal werewolf story

This book took me by surprise by how quickly it dragged me in and held my interest. Spies, mercenaries, organised crime and a werewolf in a well written engaging story where you never sure what is going to happen next. As you find out more about what is going on it pulls you deeper

The characters are well written and narrated, they are believable. I loved the fact that each character has different knowledge and they can be contradictory or missing bits.

On the strength of this book I would be more than happy to listen to a book written by the Ferrel D. Moore or narrated by Paul Fleschner as they have both done a great job here.

A great and truly unique story that is well worth a listen.

Tainted Blood

I wasn't super excited about the story and if asked could only offer the most basic summary. The premise is great but I had a hard time following the story and was confused about what was going on more often than not. I found myself wanting to listen to other books instead of this one and this type of book is my bread and butter. Maybe I was too distracted while listening. I would not suggest that anyone interested in this book skip it based on my review as there are a lot of good reviews on it. Just make sure you can focus on the story. The narrator did a great job and I don't fault him at all for my disinterest.

Russian mafia, KGB, Rasputin, and werewolves

Unique take on both werewolves and Rasputin. The story was a bit long in the tooth but was pretty enjoyable. Little too back and forth on the spies and betrayals for me. The origin of the werewolf and the mix in of Rasputin was the highlights for me. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

More curve balls then a baseball game

If you could sum up Tainted Blood in three words, what would they be?

I can't begin to describe this book in a way that won't give away plot / character details and ruin it for everyone.
Let me put it this way:
This is a werewolf book that's not really about the werewolf you think you know.

The cast of characters are fabulous and will catch you by surprise along with the plot twists and plunges. Narrator was excellent.

Atypical werewolf story, and better for it

If you could sum up Tainted Blood in three words, what would they be?

Original. Mafia. Werewolf. These are three words that don't seem to be related. But, this book combines the three into a highly original werewolf tale. KGB, Russian mafia, genetic engineering, old vendettas and new ones are all at play in this book. I've read more werewolf books than I can remember but none of them are like this book. Starts straight away with high action and intrigue then moves through some history then off again at a fast pace. Enjoyed this book and would recommend to werewolf genre readers.
