About this listen
It's been a while since Nina Statleon - ex-coffin lover, current chicken wing lover - lost her vampire mojo during a particularly brutal OOPS case. Her friends Wanda and Marty are worried. Nina clearly hasn't dealt with the emotional fallout caused by losing one's immortality. She's got issues. Big issues.
And it's time to call in the Big Gun - paranormal psychologist January Malone. Her friends will get Nina to the therapist's office, even if they have to lure her with the last bag of Cheetos in Manhattan.
Of course, the girls couldn't possibly know that Doctor Malone has an agenda. A forced agenda involving blackmail, which may just save one life while ending another. It goes against everything January, a white witch, has ever believed in, personally and professionally.
But the alternative means putting her trust in a foul-mouthed ex-vampire, her werewolf and halfsie friends, a demon, a zombie, a bear, and their assorted mates.

Story
When Marty Andrews gets bitten by a mangy mutt while walking her teacup poodle, her blond hair darkens, the hair on her legs starts growing at an alarming rate, and her mood swings put her dream job as a sales rep for Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics in serious jeopardy. Then a drool-worthy man shows up at her door claiming that he accidentally bit Marty. And since he's a werewolf, she is now, too. Thinking Keegan Flaherty is clearly insane, Marty refuses to believe a word until a kidnapping makes her realize there's more at stake than just her highlights.

Hello. My name is Stevie Cartwright, and I've been witchless for 30 days. If only there was a support group for down-on-their-luck ex-witches who've had their powers slapped right out of them (literally). Just as I was licking my wounds after returning to my hometown of Ebenezer Falls, Washington, and navigating my suddenly nonmagical existence with the help of my familiar, Belfry, things got sticky. Enter an ex-spy and newly departed spirit named Winterbottom, who's infiltrated my life with his sexy British accent and a couple of requests....

I'm Halliday Valentine, a psychic witch who's recently moved from New York City back to my very human hometown of Marshmallow Hollow, where I run the family factory that caters to all things Christmas. Digby Dainty (known as Hobbs), the tall drink of water who rents my guest cottage, and I have a lot in common, including a love of true crime. Shadowvale isn’t typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. No one knows this as well as raven shifter Deacon Evermore, who, like everyone in his family, has a curse. While his position as Shadowvale’s peacekeeper lets him use that curse for good, he’d rather live anywhere else. He stays for his family but doubts he can last much longer.

I was a top-notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago, where I had everything I needed - a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs, and Dwayne - my gay Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I'd left, and I'd rather chew my own paw off than deal with Hank. My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

OMG One of the Best Yet I save it all up this is my one review
Dakota lady you are the bomb! You’ve got Romantic Comedy locked & loaded. The story is soooo good that I tend to skip past the lustful parts to get back to what’s happening. Funny because I started reading Paranormal romance because regular fantasy writers don’t even often have there characters hook up. Not mentioning names but my x favorite author once I found that category and now the comedy.
Your characters are so awesome they all feel like they are apart of my family and friends. I laugh with them , cry with them and leap for Joy..
I am so glad that your series is apart of the Romance Package. I probably would never have found your stories or listen to them otherwise. I was rather disappointed that book 10 The Accidental Aphrodite wasn’t included. I do hope it will be soon. As well as the rest of the series. I only get one credit a month and using it on a 4 or 5 hour book if they are shorts too seems wasteful even though I absolutely love the series. Credits are very expensive..
Not sure if this should be addressed to you or Audible. I do truly hope more of your work, other series becomes available with the Romance Package. I have read several descriptions it all sounds very exciting too.
I got very lucky a friend bought some credits for me so I now have all but newest available. Just love Nina and that familiar sounds likes Nina is going to have her hands full.
Unlike others another reason that I gave you a chance was that I saw you had Hollie Jackson as a narrator. Even though she was part way though. She is one of the best narrators out there and one of my favorites. Her voices even the male voices are so great.
Truly in an audio version of a book and for some the only the see or hear, the narrator makes or breaks it.
If I hadn’t Know that Hollie was coming I probably wouldn’t have continued listening. The original narrators voice was a little grating. From hearing Hollie I have a feeling the horrible slang was all her or you changed it. Ugh! TG That was really bad. It really didn’t match the characters at all. She also had not change in her voice for the different characters. Something Hollie does so well!!!!
Disclaimer; If you look around at other reviews I have done I do proclaim the the talents of Hollie Jackson in every review I do where she is the narrator. I am in no way affiliated with her or any organization connected to her.
She is just that good. I believe in giving great reviews where deserved and hopefully constructive ideas or criticism where it’s need to.
I think Hollie deserves cudos.
Not every voice can be such a great narrator.
Especially for a picky person like me, who also has a minimal hearing loss. I don’t hear certain syllables. I also have trouble with heavy accents. Not trying to be rude. That’s just a truth. The voices really, really help me distinguish the characters. Other wise it’s just like reading I have to rewind again and again, “who said what?”
As a child I was diagnosed with ADHD that comes back haunting me on occasion and PTSD as an adult. Along with Long Term illness. To calm my nerves and help me focus on the task at hand I need these books on tape. TV noise because of the visual input no longer works. Concentrating on one thing gets my mind in the present so I can work on whatever project I’m doing.
So Thanks Audible please keep adding to the Romance Package
Dakota Thank you so much for sharing your very special talent with the world. Being able to make us laugh in good times is a gift. Being able to make us laugh when we feel really crapy is talent and a special gift. I count myself lucky that I got to share in it.
Hollie From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for sharing you voice and wonderful talent with the world and me too.

Nina’s a hoot! As long as they mostly clean up her language…
Nina is a foul mouthed, foul tempered, totally loyal vampiress. Once she considers you as family then you are ALWAYS family. I think that baby Calista overheard Nina saying that she wished she was a vampire. Calista being a very good little half vampire/half witch she bit Nina (who she adores) and somehow transformed her. It’s so awesome that both Bobbie Sue cosmetics ladies slathered themselves in the manure without a second thought
Funny and totally entertaining book that I recommend.

Love this series but...
I love this series and author, it provides a fun mindless escape to go along all of my to dos. I'm also one of those people that always wants more of the story so I only read series. And for that reason I'm surprised to say that I think the accidentals might need to becoming to an end. I could predict almost to the comma what sentence came next ... The only twist was how NinA got her fangs back and maybe if that angle was explored then maybe we can be back in business. Either way I think this is a great fun series and would love to see it in on tv!

The husbands are back!
Finally, the husbands are part of the story again! This narrator still doesn't do Darnell or Nina's voices right, and she pauses after every sentence, the same length of time that she does for a paragraph. Makes for a very choppy feeling in the book, but the story is excellent! The twist at the end of the book, and the other twist in the epilogue were fantastically hilarious! Totally loved the story.
