Publisher's summary

Treachery has made Bishop an outlaw and rocked the Alliance to its foundation. Forced into exile while his friends strive to clear his name, Bishop and his family encounter the best and worst mankind has to offer while they travel the badlands. The human animal is trying to regroup, striving to fill the vacuum in leadership left after the collapse and form productive societies.

But it's not easy. The lack of basic necessities has weakened the resolve of many, allowing age-old tendencies to cloud the minds of men. Those that do step up and take the helm of governance may have alternative motives and hidden agendas.

Follow the adventures of Bishop, Terri, and Hunter as they seek refuge, trying to survive while their friends uncover the truth and keep the Alliance whole.

Obviously the end of the series but that's too bad

Completely enjoyed this last book, the whole book from the written word to the narration to the music to the structure of the presentation was great. I enjoyed it all. Looking forward to more quality book[s] by Joe Nobody and I'm sure he'll have something for us in the future.
I've read all his books and this last one in the series [at least I believe it is by the ending] shows that a good author just gets better as he writes more often and Joe has most certainly improved his ability to keep an ol' die hard like me entertained.

Great series!!

Would be better without the background noises and music. Great series though!
Liked other narrators better than one in 6 & 7.

This is an AUDIO review.

As with the others in the series, I have enjoyed the story. But the audio narration leaves much to be desired. First the narrator changes from book to book. Some narrations try to include sound effects which hurts the story because of the poor attempt. Multiple books use two narrators that in my own opinion are far too old to be doing the story. The first book, as I wrote in my review made it sound like The story was taking place at a seniors center. It's hard to believe that Terry could be having a child when she sounds like she's in her 50s or 60s. Two of the books so far have tried to insert sound effects, these attempts fell short.

One of the better in the series.

If you could sum up Holding Their Own VII in three words, what would they be?

This book takes you all the way back to the beginning when Bishop and Teri started out. Surviving alone. There is one short adventure after another. Enjoyed the adventure.

Great story and series. Poor narration.

Great story. Poor narration, makes all the males sound like perpetual drunks. Cheese sound effects.

Narrator is not very good.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

YES! The production.....narration.....music.....you name it.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Story is not bad......but not as good as "most" of the earlier stories.

How could the performance have been better?

You name it.

Could you see Holding Their Own VII being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes.

Great book awesome series horrible performance

As a fan of the series, a love of authors style, and this book didn't disappoint. After the 2nd book with this narrator, helped because continuity. But the bad sound effects and ruins the mood.

I'll keep moving through in hopes the next book changes.
