About this listen

Unbeknownst to loved ones, a headstrong young wife is snatched off the prairie by two Comanche braves, carried north of the Red River, and traded to their war chief for ponies. After five years, a small detail of Texas Rangers rides into camp, and she determines that day will bring freedom or death. She'll remain captive no more.

Sassy Nightengale almost gives up hope until a company of Texas Rangers rides into Bold Eagle's peace camp. She learns they've come for the negotiated exchange of stolen white women, except her name isn't on their list. Deciding in her heart to escape captivity with her blue-eyed four-year-old that day, she does everything she can to be noticed.

Famed Texas Ranger Levi Baylor spots the red-headed beauty and agrees to the war chief's price adding his personal horse and weapon to the Republic agents' offerings. The trade propels the couple on a trail of joy and sorrow. Sweet love blossoms but must be denied. His integrity and her faith in God keep them at arm's length, not allowing even a kiss. Sassy's still married to her son's father, and Levi's honor bound to deliver her home to her husband.

Can their forbidden love be made holy? God hates divorce. Is it wrong to hope, to expect Nightengale to relinquish his wife and son? Will Sassy and Levi find the redemption they seek for their troubled souls?

Amazing

A wonderful series with nurses that trained with Clara Barton, which brings a wonderful element to the stories.
Jessica has gone through training to become a nurse and she had been assigned to a . But she is happy to be assigned to a new hospital in Vermont, much to her father's idea of her just marry a wealthy man and live nearby.
Unfortunately female nurses were not as respected as they should be but it was her life's ambition. She had found a nice boarding house to stay at near the hospital and even ran into a handsome man going in the same time as she! His name was Hugh and his mother was the cook.
When reporting into her first day on the job, she found out Hugh was actually one of the doctors at the hospital.. What she also found was the man she had loved who had gone off to war and been missing for a few years!
A sweet story filled with suspense, a mystery and a very unexpected ending! Another page turner by the fabulous Marie Higgins!

Amazing tale!

What a wonderful book! So many emotional highs and lows! An incredible story of trials and walking in faith! I love how we get to watch not only the love story grow slowly and beautifully, but their faith in God as well!! Caryl is a incredible new author to me! I truly enjoyed the audio version! I didn't realize till the end that I didn't start at book one! So that's the next one on my list!!!

I truly enjoyed this book!

Although I found the book to be quite long I still couldn’t stop listening to it. After sassy gets kidnapped by to Cherokee Braves and then traded to their war chief who would now be her “husband“. She is treated terrible by everyone including her “husband“’s Other wives. With the exception of honey badger an Indian who is also not fully excepted she really has no friends. She is miserable only to find out she was pregnant by her husband Charlie when kidnapped which makes for an even worse situation. With her blue eyed son she prays to be free and her chance finally comes with a childhood friend Lee Roy posing with his Ranger outfit to negotiate for release. All that day she prays that he seen her and although she thinks he didn’t he did an even exchange his personal property to get her back. This story alone sounds interesting right? Well that’s Just the beginning. They eventually fall in love having spent over a month together getting her back home. There is so much to the story I can’t say as I don’t want to spoil anything. Not to mention they have all the storylines in this book it was so good and although very long as I said it was so worth reading. I totally totally enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Hearts Stolen

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a good clean story line with just the right amount of romance. It never gets boring. The characters seem so real you feel like part of the story. I enjoy this book enough to listen to it time and again.

Amazing walk through history.

This is the second book in the series and picks up a few years after the first book.
I love the Texas Ranger stories and this book does not disappoint.
From the first introduction of Sassy, Levi, Wallace and Charlie, I was hooked!
The characters aren't perfect and even though it is a "Christian" romance life happens. For me it's how each one of the characters grow and develop that makes the book believable.
I was am looking forward to the next book.

God uses many ways to bring us to Him

Thanks, Caryl--loved this book. Very enjoyable book with Indians, Texas Rangers, love, kidnapping, testing of faith, deceit, and new beginnings. God is always looking out for His children no matter what circumstances they find themselves in. We need to keep our hearts pure for Him as the characters in this book learned to do. Get swept away in this great book!!

Wow, what a story!

Great story of trial and triumph. A sweet love story that exhibits faith and redemption/salvation for the characters. I loved everything about it!

The narrator did a wonderful job.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Made it through half

This was so hard to listen to I couldn't finish it. The narration was painful. The script was so childlike. It had the makings of a great novel but..... I won't be listening to any more novels by this author or the narrator. Sorry
