Musica was the hottest rock band around, that was until a tragic accident killed the lead singer Callie-Ann.
Tyler knew it was his fault and he held the guilt, held it tight. Callie-Ann was the love of Tyler's life and now, well now she was gone because of him.
Life was passing him by. The drinking helped to ease his painful world.
Passed out on the kitchen floor of his apartment he receives an unsuspected visitor.
Callie-Ann.
She pulls him from his drunken state. She keeps him focused. He can tell no one of her haunting or she'll disappear forever that is the only rule. Can Tyler keep the secret forever? Can he let Callie-Ann wander through the in-between, or will he find the strength to set her free?

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Haunte by the read
Haunted by My Rock Chick defies classification (a conflation of genres - ghost story, love story, YA-ish, albeit not for a class read, and erotica all mixed up), and that's one of the elements that makes it interesting. The novella centers around a theme that authors continually try to unpack: loss and its aftermath. I found the story of Callie-Ann and Tyler quite moving (there is a bit of schmaltz, for sure, but it is well-placed), and although I listened to this in one sitting, the story was dense to engage me all the way through. This is due, in part, to the balance of dialogue rallying between the two narrators, but even more to the quality of the audio performances. I found both Gabriel Sloyer and Arden Hammersmith completely believable....they were perfectly chosen for these characters. Tyler, in particular, is embodied fully by Mr. Sloyer, and we get all shades of emotion translated through his read, which at times,is hypnotic. I personally found the song interjections a bit superfluous, but I liked the different texture of a song running through the novella...that is also interesting. I found myself mentally chewing on this story for a while after I finished....always a good sign.

When love never dies
Where does Haunted by My Rock Chick rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was the first audiobook I have listened to. I wasn't sure what it would be like, but I loved it.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the way Amanda Kay writes. She makes you feel like you are part of the story. Listening to someone narrate it helped me feel even more into the story.
Have you listened to any of Arden Hammersmith and Gabriel Sloyer ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
As I said, this is the first one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Callie Ann realized that Jenn was the one to replace her, I cried while in the car driving to work. I am sure the other people in the traffic jam wondered if I was crying over being late to work. (I was still 30 minutes early.)

Loved it.
Would you consider the audio edition of Haunted by My Rock Chick to be better than the print version?
I think that the audio version gives you the freedom to do other things while listening to the story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Haunted by My Rock Chick?
The moment that Callie-Ann's mother tells Tyler that she wasn't going to press charges because he was suffering enough.
What does Arden Hammersmith and Gabriel Sloyer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The actual voices of the characters and a bit more of the emotion.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
At the beginning I go teary eyed.
Any additional comments?
I would buy th whole series on audio.

Lovely Modern Romantic Melodrama UPBEAT NARRATION!
Any additional comments?
Perfectly exaggerated melodrama flows like a waterfall with superb narration. A two tone melody of juxtaposed voices, HAMMERSMITH & SLOYER, emotional and penetrating. Much Better than a TV soap opera! Lots of unabashed modern fun.
