This book was a life-changer!

This book was a life-changer! Now that I understand how my brain works and the evolutionary reasons behind my feelings, I have more power over how I react to those feelings and how I let them affect my experience. Stephen Patterson presents all the information in clear and easy-to-understand terms that turned on a lightbulb in my mind! I am so happy stumbled upon this book and writer and I will be recommending it to everyone I know! Even if you don't feel the need to "boost your happiness," this book will change the way you perceive your body and mind and the way you go through life!

Exactly what I was looking for

It contains good insights as to how the mind really works and rewards us for certain behaviors. And how we can go about naturally triggering these reward centers without needing to resort to drugs and so forth. Fascinating and insightful.

I will listen to the book not only once, but several times throughout my kids' growth and development, so I keep remaining myself of the right things to do. Well-researched and not biased! Great overall book. Entertaining to listen and easy to implement his Brain rules.

Great read.

This book goes into depth about the science of synaptic wiring and how we become addicted to our habits and feelings and moreover addicted to all the chemicals being produced by our bodies. This is an intriguing exposition on how the brain works and how we can overcome addictions and habits. I feel extremely empowered to break my addictions. Great read.

Sound Advice Based On Well-researched Principles

We are made to love and be loved, unconditionally. Unconditional love releases the greatest amount of dopamine in the brain than any drug or pleasure. If selfless love is lacking, addictions begin in an attempt release dopamine artificially (fill the void), but only temporarily because nothing but pure love can fill us.

This series is basically a good detective thriller set in space with liberal doses of science. A fast read for me really enjoyed it.
